I just have to say -
It's really, really hard to change a story from present tense to past tense when you've gotten used to writing/thinking about it in present tense.
I keep going back and rereading things and finding all kinds of places where I swap tense, and all I can think is that I know way better than to do this. (To be fair, some of it is stuff I've just missed. On the other hand, at least a half-dozen sentences so far have been because I slipped back into writing in present tense while I was working on it. I am going to need a beta so hard.)
Also - what is with these earthquakes today? Colorado and Virginia? I hope everyone's okay.
