this weekend
So this was one of the best weekends I've had in a while. Josh stayed with me this weekend before he headed home. We both had to work Friday night. He got off at 11:30, and I got off at 1. When I got off, I met him back at my apartment and we passed out. But I made 40 friggin bucks at the friggin snack bar in friggin tips Friday night! 40 bucks in tips at a snack bar? sweet. Some guy tipped me 20 bucks... for getting him a pepsi. I tried to tell him not to, but he was trying to give it to me while I was denying it and in the process, he knocked the pepsi over and it went everywhere. I decided that ok... I'd take 20 bucks for that. It was a long night and I was exhausted. I had to work Saturday. He went hiking and then came up to the bowling alley. I ended up getting off work early... at about 3:30. Then he and I went to this bridge that I've been wanting to walk across. It's a foot bridge and it runs across the Tuck river... cooler than I thought it would be. Then we went to walmart. He had bought 2 pounds of fresh shrimp for Friday night and he was going to go home at 11:30 and start making dinner and we were going to eat when I got home. But he locked his keys in his car at work Fri night and it put a kink in the plans. Which worked out because food was the last thing on my mind when I got off work. I was really tired. So instead we did that Saturday night.
All the roommates were gone except Tiffany and she had to work until 9 on saturday. So he made the shrimp and I made fettucini alfredo. And we had bread. And wine. It was great. Emily Bond came over Saturday night and Tiffany came home and we all sat around and had a beer and watched this cool movie. Then got tired... and went to bed.
Yesterday Josh and I woke up and went to Paradise Falls. It was a perfect day for it. The weather was beautiful. We took some pictures. Very cool. Then we went to lunch and had chinese. And then headed home. He left to go back home to Clemmons for Christmas when we got back. : (
Tiffany and I went to Asheville... first to the mall and finished some Christmas shopping. Saw Fitz and Chainsaw (haha just two of the bouncers from work) in bath and body works. haha It was interesting. They're cool guys. So laid back.
Justin's band is in the studio for a week. I envy them. I don't smoke... but just sitting in the studio playing music recording, having a beer and smoking for a week. The studio was awesome. This guy has a studio on the outskirts of Asheville in his basement. He has the perfect house for it. The house is beautiful and the studio is in the basement. There's 5 rooms in the basement. All of them sound proof. 3 of them used for instrumentalists and then one with the recording equipment and couches and stuff. And then a bathroom and like another common area. It was a lot of fun just watching through the glass at them recording. The cd is going to be awesome. A lot of pictures were taken, I'll have to post some. Until I get those, I'll just post some pictures of Josh and I from the weekend. I have no idea how they managed to bring together so many unbelievable musicians. Justin is a music major and a jazz pianist and he is un-freakin-believable. Tyler is a music major and the best guitarist I've ever known personally and one of the best guitar players I've ever heard. Red will make it in the music business because he has such a distinct voice and he knows how to use it. I spent a lot of time filing Red's fake nails... because his real nails bleed because he doesn't use a pick when he plays guitar. He just uses his nails. Therefore, he gets fake nails. And I ended up filing them for him. Ironically, I barely keep up my own nails. And I hate filing nails (texture/sound/feeling issue). Kip is the bass player and does a lot of upright bass playing. I wish I even played upright bass.. not even considering the talent he has on it. And I don't know what to say about Mike, but it goes without saying how talented he is... they wouldn't let a shitty drummer play with them when they're got so much going for them.
Afterdark. Remember that band name. Unbelievable.
Josh gave me my first pocket knife. I love it. It's neat. I'm not sure if I should have any form of a sharp object though.... seeing how I cut myself with a nacho tray at work.
Anywho... Tiffany and I are headed to Dillsboro today and to walmart. I'm going to go get so fresh and so clean in the showa.
P.S. Josh and I have officially been dating one month as of today.
