And I am getting a Digital SLR camera for Christmas...well partly for Christmas, the other part is me buying it. I'm so excited to be able to spend the entire holiday season playing around with it, experimenting, getting crappy pictures and try, trying again. :D
Mmm, because I feel like it, 10 things that I love about winter break and Christmas:
1) The annual HUUUUUGE Christmas Crossword in the Globe and Mail. 2 full pages, about 2000 words. It's become a tradition for me to pore over it every Christmas. *drools*
2) Sleeping more than 8 hours a night. Relaxing like a queen.
3) Home cooking. Christmas Goose, Yorkshire pudding, roast beef, anything that mom makes...
4) The candy canes that will be hung all over the tree, then each day we steal one off the tree and eat it.
5) Shopping for anything, everything.
6) Savouring the moment when I order a fancy cocktail on Elgin or Bytown, and the waitress asks for ID, and I'll be like "Take that, bitches"
7) After all the presents are opened, that new materialistic hoarding instinct, prompting me to spend the rest of the day playing with all the goodies we got (wow I feel like I'm 2).
8) Pulling Christmas crackers, those annoying paper crowns that you are obliged to wear throughout the dinner, and the cute little trinkets with novelty factor of 2 minutes.
9) The scent of pine throughout the house.
10) Parties and reunions with old friends.
