Weekly, well fortnightly, Wordpress Wrap for 17/06/2012

Jun 17, 2012 18:28

In case you didn't know there was a fabulous Continuum 8: Craftonomicon last weekend.  I travelled light so my ability to blog was sharply limited, and I didn't do a weekly wrap as a result.

I did however manage a brief report on the Saturday, and released the 2012 Chronos Award winners after the awards ceremony (although this post was actually written a week before the con - scheduling is cool).

I presented a couple of the Chronos Awards at the Awards Ceremony, and that was a lot of fun.  Congratulations again to all the winners, including the Norma K. Hemming Award winners, the Ditmar winners, and the various lifetime achievement award winners.  A special congratulations goes to ratfan for her honourable mention for Nightsiders in the Norma K. Hemming Award.

So, what else have I been up to over the last two weeks? Well among other things I got a little annoyed at the elephant in the e-book room.

In terms of anime I started watching Bodacious Space Pirates on CrunchyRoll.  My initially favourable comments at 7 episodes are still holding strong at 22 episodes, but I am worried about whether the ending will hold up. To use one of my favourite lines snaffled from rdmasters, Bodacious Space Pirates is still much better than it has any right to be.

I also watched, and was distinctly unimpressed by, the three episode OAV Le Portrait de Petite Cossette. If you've been looking for proof that there's anime that I won't enjoy, here it is.

I picked up some Oh My Goddess! volumes at the Convention so those reviews will be resuming soon. I've read (and enjoyed) volumes 20 & 21, but dalekboy has the rest for the moment.
