The Founders

MEET THE FOUNDERS

Though Arcadia endeavors to grow as a community and town, secretly, the founders hope to be remembered for being the first to break ground in uncharted territory. Those who've yet to dream of finding their true calling in the community and make a legacy of sorts as the town begins to grow and take shape. Regardless of their achievements, these twelve will go down in history as the ones brave enough to take a risk, adventurous enough to seek something more, and earnest in their efforts.

Let's meet them.

THE LOVETTES

MAEVE Lovette dreamt of adventures. As the Sim Nation has begun to grow more, she sought after a kind of adventure not found in established cities and lands. Cultivating the dream of founding a town, she entertained her brother Grover with hopes and aspirations, which took on shape as she grew older. Her networking has lead her to collecting eleven other pioneers to bring on her journey with her. Arcadia has been, in short, her longest pet project and she's excited to finally see it off to a start. So much time and dedication has been put into it behind the scenes that she's truthfully almost afraid of what will come of it. Now that electricity and plumbing has been established, she's ready to venture on and finally see her dream come truly to life. The only thing is, Maeve is so driven and ambitious it sometimes blinds her. What she thinks is the good of the people may not always be so, and she may find that she's going to have to learn to make some sacrifices, if she intends for Arcadia to be the best it can be. Socialization is not her strength, but as a great mayor, she'll need to improve on this if she intends to connect with her people at all. But with such a drive for success as hers, will she be able to reign herself in or become drunk on her power?

Traits: Ambitious, Dramatic, Adventurous, Perfectionist, Social Disaster

GROVER Lovette dreams of love. Where his sister is practical to a fault and favors matters of the mind, Grover favors love and emotional security. He's never had Maeve's ambition in life. His alien heritage gave him something of ridicule growing up, but rather than make him bitter and withdrawn, he's channeled it into a desire to find his own place. What he's always been, through all the years, is a family man, seeking another half to raise a family with. Maeve, of course, scoffs (gently) at his ideals, reprimanding him that in a town barely existing, it could be hard to find true love, but Grover argues back that isn't that the best place? To start a family who will one day leave a legacy in Arcadia is his real dream, and it's only by coming to Arcadia he's come to realize it, and hopes to see it to fruition. True, there are fewer options, but Grover just seeks someone who makes his heart swell and will love him as much as he wants to be loved. But those who so desperately seek to be loved risk settling for less than they deserve, and putting one on a pedestal does not always bode so well.

Traits: Flirty, Loves the Outdoors, Brave, Gatherer, Savvy Sculptor

THE GREENES

DALLAS Greene always knew she'd be a farmer. She was born a farmer, raised a farmer, and desired nothing else but being a farmer - after all, what else was there for a Greene to do? It's what her family has done for generations before her. When Maeve contacted her and her brother in query of joining her in the great unknown, she jumped at the opportunity. It's not exactly that she seeks fame and fortune, but who doesn't crave to leave their mark on the world? Of course, now that she's here, she's beginning to wonder if this wasn't a rash and reckless decision. This is land that's never been broken before; her whole life she's tilled the soil her family has cultivated over so many years, but this has nothing of their mark. Failure is impossible - an entire community now depends on her and her brother, and it's a bit of a daunting realization. What Dallas needs is to overcome her newfound fears and make this land her own, but she worries that she won't be able to live up to her ancestors talents.

Traits: Eco Friendly, Mature, Schmoozer, Unflirty, Green Thumb

DEMPSEY Greene is an idealist, or if you ask Dallas, a little foolish. It kind of goes either way. Lacking the criticism of his sister, he finds the world hopeful and inspiring. others might say he's just easily impressed and doesn't have high standards. Whatever to them; it makes him a happier man, and he finds he enjoys life far more when he doesn't take everything as critically seriously as some. Like Dallas, he's dreamt of little more than working the land as he's been raised. He's at one with the soil under his nails and the smell of the earth and the way the sky looks just before a storm when the clouds roll in and ruffle his hair. There's no bigger joy to him than a healthy harvest and people enjoying what he's broken his back to bear. One could say he's blinded by his hope and idealism: the novelty of leaving his mark on Arcadia is so big to him he doesn't see the risks and instead already is thinking further ahead, to maybe taking out a loan and getting a little grocery store set up. There's something awfully romantic to him about the food he and his sister grow being what sustains this growing town. Someone who doesn't think of the risks, though, has a lot of cracks to trip through, and he needs to watch his footing. With his head in the clouds, its easy to forget to look down.

Traits: Good Sense of Humor, Flirty, Angler, Easily Impressed, Over Emotional

THE CERETS

LOGAN Ceret seeks the little things in life - or big dreams, it all depends on perspective. Back home, she was something of a slacker, which was part of what got her roped into this newfangled town in the first place. When Rory found himself agreeing to join Arcadia, it was on the grounds that his sister come along with. No one actually asked Logan how she felt about the whole thing and to be honest, if anyone were to now, she might not want to confess she's awfully scared. Arcadia barely even in existence, there's no police or fire fighters, there's definitely no shopping or places to hang out. The idea of trusting her neighbors is kind of worrying. But despite this, her sense of adventure compelled her to agree. For all her fears and worries, she has to admit, Arcadia boasts some pluses; a nature-loving eco-freindly person such as herself sees the potential to make Arcadia a much greener place than her previous home. Further, even if trusting her neighbors is something she's wary of, she always feels rather compelled to look after them. All of them uprooted, in a strange place. They'll need some kind of looking after, and if Logan is good at anything, it's looking after people and taking care of them. Hopefully Arcadia will find a way to help her nurture her love for music and dance.

Traits: Brooding, Adventurous, Eco Friendly, Nurturing, Diva

RORY Ceret isn't exactly a handyman - yet. It's a work in progress, and there's no place like the humble beginnings of Arcadia to hone his talents. After being invited to start up this small little town with Maeve - and being promised his pleasure-seeking-no-goal-having sister would be secured a spot - he set away to working with the future mayor on setting up the electricity and water for the town. With these last measures finally in place, he's found himself packed up and moved in and more than ready to begin his new life. Something about the humbleness of such a small community resonates deeply with him; he's always been incredibly family-oriented, which is why it was so important that Logan come with him to Arcadia, but further, he finds something romantic about making his own family. The people of Arcadia, for better or for worse, will be family, and he intends to make good on this. Fortunately, his charisma has, in the past, helped draw people to him. It makes him feel secure and safe when he's able to count on those around him and find brotherhood in strangers who've become kin to him. Logan teases him that it's odd for someone so commitment-phobic as him to be so family-oriented, but it's arguable that relationships are not the same as family. And anyway, he's currently got way more to focus on than finding his ~one true partner~. True to his nature, he's finding that he's going to have to make a choice between practicality as a handyman and following his true love of arts and crafts.

Traits: Workaholic, Commitment Issues, Handy, Family Oriented, Charismatic

THE MEADOWS

FAYE Meadows won't admit it - at least not out loud - but she's the reason for all those Gemini stereotypes. She can't help it that she has a duty to herself. So maybe she's not the nicest sim on the block - it's not her job to be in a good mood all the time! It's not her job to be nice to everysim! When she was younger, it was shyness, and she retreated into books. As she grew older, she became more outgoing, but no less a bookworm. If anything, as she grew older, she became bolder and came to speak her mind more, no matter how much it hurt people to hear what she had to say. She's been called a lot of things for it, but she doesn't let it get to her. What she hopes is that in Arcadia, she can carve a place for herself where she'll be respected just the way she is. She's always had a thing for fashion and design, and she's looking forward to being able to maybe one day open her own little boutique to outfit the growing town. Social nuances only matter so much, and she has every intention of putting her dream ahead of her.

Traits: Disciplined, Star Quality, Frugal, Animal Allergies, Bookworm

MILO Meadows came to learn of Arcadia when he was courted by Maeve for the position of architect. Such a daunting task though... in the end he found himself turning down the offer, because the sheer idea of committing to something so huge made him break out. What if he couldn't take it on as well as she hoped? What if he lost inspiration? What if he just hated it? But having heard of Arcadia, there was no way he intended to carry on with life as he knew it. He hasn't exactly found happiness in life; maybe a change of pace could do him some good. Getting away from everything, finding himself~ Who knows, maybe whoever Maeve found for the town architect could use a helping hand. He might not have the best personality - stubborn anti-committers aren't exactly the most friendly neighbors, he's aware, but maybe he could learn to love Arcadia. Or maybe he'd just keep on burning bridges; a flair for dramatics never hurt anyone. (That's a lie.)

Traits: Stubborn, Natural Born Performer, Bookworm, Commitment Issues, Frugal

THE ST. CLAIRES

DELILAH St. Claire always favored creativity and the arts - she got it from her mother, and it passed along the St. Claire children. Despite this, what she really loves in life is politics. It might seem an odd dream, but she's always coveted it. Something about making things happen really appeals to the eldest St. Claire child. And by something, years of looking after her younger siblings and making rules. Coming to Arcadia has compromised her true goal in life - to be a mayor herself. However, if she can help out politically, perhaps it could satisfy her thirst. Of course, one never knows if a coup would be necessary... Or if some other distractions could occupy her enough to keep her mind off other things.

Traits:

DASHIEL St. Claire isn't sure if there's anything in life he wants more than to have his own restaurant. He dreams of a day when he's a chef on everyone's televisions, whose cookbooks everyone possesses. Some days, he's not even sure if that's the goal he really wants to go in life. He can't remember ever wanting to be anything but a chef, but he knows cooking isn't exactly his passion. The trouble is, Dashiel isn't sure he even has a passion. It once was the ruthless bullying of Maddox, but in their adulthood, things have settled down - and Maddox has found his calling. Desperately, Dashiel hopes that like the rest of his siblings, he'll come to understand what truly makes him happy.

Traits: Hot-headed,

MADDELEINE St. Claire knows what she wants out of life and she knows exactly how to get it. If those rumors about their family buying their way into Arcadia start anywhere, it's probably right here. It should come as little surprise to anyone that she's been named the Treasurer of Arcadia, because the only thing she loves more than her twin Maddox is money. Unfortunately for Maddeleine, it turns out that this whole "business" thing isn't exactly her forte. Maybe if she'd gone to uni, earned a business degree, but then she'd never be here in Arcadia, would she? By pure determination alone, she will get exactly what she wants and if she has to force it to happen, well. A few hurt feelings don't get in the way of much.

Traits:

MADDOX St. Claire has many dreams in life. Firstly, he wants to see his love of dance reach fruition, and hopes that one day soon Arcadia will possess the means for that. Secondly, he's going to head up the best architecture firm that Arcadia's ever seen - which doesn't say much, but he doesn't think of that. Thirdly, not so secretly, is to have a family, because he must've hogged all the maternal, nurturing genes in the womb with Maddeleine. Fortunately, Maddox is a sim of many talents - a natural dancer, a creative eye, a born salesmen. For him, Arcadia is literally a sandbox of opportunity; the hardest part is picking out what to prioritize!
