You have to piss pretty much constantly, like a pregnant woman, the urge hovers somewhere in the background of your consciousness like a nagging warning light on a car, always on for no good reason.

man, that's so fuckin true. >:|

being an insomniac, this was like a sick/bitter/sardonic chucklefest for me. *pets poor sam* i think the pacing is good, and i really like the mood. ^_^

Heh. That's pretty much what it was like for me writing this. (And boy, did that sentence have terrible grammar!)

Thank you *g*

This is so painfully true. That's like very night for me(minus the whole prophetic dream stuff;)). I love the part about the squirrels lol

Thank you - it's what I go thru almost every night as well. I'm glad I got something out of it at least!

This is so DEAD ON for insomnia, I would quote parts at you that struck me as really accurate but they would be the whole fic.

Evil but well-written.

I am SO down with squirrel hate and late night TV hate and the head-biting-off of people that irritate. I used to stay awake for three days then sleep 6, then start again. Now I have medication, THANK GOD.

Wow, three days! I think the longest I ever went was one and a half. I second your "thank God for medication" because I think I really might be insane by now if I couldn't control it. Insomnia triggers mania which triggers insomnia again. Fun!

I love how all the comments are by insomniacs! Self-selection I guess. Anyway. Thank you :D

Well, three days, with maybe one hour of crappy sleep each night. Mania does that to me. Every week or so I would freak out and sleep like, 14-24 hours, with bathroom and snack breaks. I would have a gallon jug of water and a small pile of junk food by the bed so I wouldn't have to get up.

Interesting.. I think mine works the other way around. Lack of sleep makes me manic - either directly if I pull an all-nighter, or gradually, say I get 5 or less hours of sleep Monday-Thursday, on Friday I can pretty much bet I'll be manic. Then on the weekends I'll sleep 10-14 hours, easy, without eating a thing.

PS friended you back, I like your style.

Dean mocks you with his blissful eight hours of uninterrupted slumber, snoring away like a fucking jerk. Sometimes he dreams and twitches a little or shouts “Dad!” (or sometimes “Sam!” or “No!” - or one time something that sounded like “tuna!”)

My favorite lines &hearts
snoring away like a fucking jerk and crying out something that sounded like “tuna!” is gold x3

You’re starving but you force yourself to wait until the alarm goes off before waking Dean up.Even after having to face insomnia on his own and being irritated, Sam is still so loving and considerate to wait until the alarm sounds to rustle Dean out of bed. That's sweet ( ... )

Well, I wouldn't say it's a blow-by-blow of any one given night, more of a composite from the many, many nights I've spent suffering from the dreaded insomnia. But I've thought all those things before at one time or another in the throes of it.

I liked those two lines too - thanks for calling them out ;)

Stupid diurnal critters, I hatesss them. I think I've heard birds at like 1am too, those idiots. It had to have been summer, I think that messes up their little clocks sometimes.

Thank you for all your lovely fb, it's totally made my Monday (and Tuesday).
