last thursday six
lovely laura seems to have started a thursday six thing. so in lieu of stalling going to bed early to make the almost four hour drive to nyc to search for apartment again tomorrow. i think ill do one.
1. if you were to find a diary and/or journal lying about, either belonging to someone you knew or a complete stranger, and they were nowhere to be found would you read it? have you ever read anything like this?
i dont think i would, even if it were a strangers. i might. if it were an old journal or something though, i think i definitely would. i would love to read about someones deepest thoughts in past times. i would definitely not read it if it belonged to someone i knew. daniel leaves his lying around all the time and i dont read it. if there were something he wanted me to know, he would tell me. i wouldnt read friends either. same thing, really. its just an invasion of privacy. ive had it done to me and it hurts.
2. when walking by a home of any kind and a window is open to view (where you can easily see in to said home) do you take a look? or do you avert your eyes and keep walking?
oh give me a break, i live for it. one of the things i used to love about nyc was walking around at night looking (not peeping!) at peoples windows from across the street while walking down the street. i was always fascinated and love making up stories about them. i think i actually have a couple of (very old) journal entries about that over at diaryland. thats one of my favorite things to do in public in general - making up stories in my head about certain people and their lives.
3. when using a bathroom that is not yours, and not a public restroom, do you ever peer into the shelves, cabinets, and/or cubbards? or do you do your "business" and move on, so to speak?
no i dont and i never understood why people do. daniel does that, or used to at least, i guess. i get no fascination from knowing what people use for deodorant or what kind of medication they are taking.
4. do you eavesdrop on people's conversations in public places? or do you attempt to tune out other people's ramblings?
depends on the situation. if im out alone, at a cafe or somewhere, and im not reading or something, i am constantly listening to others. again with the imagining peoples lives thing. if im out with someone, its a major struggle to tune people out, and im extremely conscious of it. its an attention span thing, for me.
5. do you share your lj, or other online diaries/journals/blogs, with everyone in your life? no one in your life? select people in your life?
very few real life people know of my journals. no one knows of this one, and only two (i think) know of my blog and my diary, which have become linked sort of.
6. do you hide anything you personally own, in your home or vehicle, when you are expecting company? or do you let it all hang-out, so to speak?
i have stuffed animals. yea im a big baby. i hide those on the rare occassion that an acquaintance type friend comes over. i cant think of anything else i hide in any other circumstance though.
