Tuesdays are terribly busy. Is this how the life of a musician is supposed to be? From the impression so many busy professionals give me, it seems this is the life. It seems to be a lot of work for not a lot of money. But I'm happy because I'm a musician. I'm happy to be doing work that I love, improving myself in ways that I care about, continuing to educate myself and be teaching music for money and experience.
I have 2 hours before band...
I just finished teaching at CoH ... a girl came back from being sick for week and a half. Teaching a group of 10 kids with such a wide age range is soo hard, especially when they don't practice. Now I have to deal with this girl who can barely make a sound ... on the other end of the spectrum, there's a girl who I think is playing private lessons. She played a Bach gigue for me.... I'll be so sad if she decides the class is too easy for her!! I wish I could help her more. ;_; ;_; ;_; She read a whole book called "How to Play the Flute" ahh! the 7th graders are so motivated in this place! haha
This place did a background check on me because I'm working with children. They pulled up a lot of stuff about me that I didn't know... I was evicted 6 years ago, which I knew... But I had a civil suit against me for the 2800 in back rent, which I did NOT know. yikes... so I have to get that mark off of my record. There are also 2 people using my social security number. The woman from HR told me that I should get a credit check done... sigh, I probably have terrible credit. I have an appointment for free financial advice from my school next month.
