It's interesting that the ITNW dance has gained its mythological stature only with hindsight (outside of the SNSD fandom, anyways), as within the decade, it was so far over-shadowed by the hook dances instead. Tell Me first, and then Gee and Genie. It could be argued that SNSD themselves never came close to matching the skill on display in ITNW until Catch Me If You Can.
Aesthetically, though, with the light cool colors, and the "fresh"/"youthful" way Dreamcatcher are executing the dance, they follow a longer through-line, to ITNW itself positing SNSD as a "sequel" to SES. You and askbask also previously noted early Lovelyz and GFriend going for this image. What's interesting is that this "fresh schoolgirl" aesthetic is now historically linked to rookie SNSD, because their debut peers, Wonder Girls and Kara, did not go for this image initially. (And Kara's take on it would be slightly different)
And this is, oddly enough, a contrast to the Produce 101 performances, which treated ITNW as something to be performed like a veteran (especially Taeyeon's big solo), with a stronger hip hop emphasis on the dancing. Of course, in P101, they were all trying to make themselves stand out compared to their group-mates, whereas Dreamcatcher are truly working as a team entity.
However, note how the Dreamcatcher version of the arrangement lends a stronger electric guitar presence, removes the hints of rap from the dance break. And they change the choreo there to be more of a group effort, as well.
Interesting: I'd been listening casually last year to I.O.I whenever YouTube threw them at me, with the feeling that they performed really invitingly while the songwriting and singing wasn't up to the rest of the presentation. Had no knowledge of their origin on reality TV.
Pledis's news group Pristin has seven members (out of a ttoal of ten) who were contestants in Produce 101. Two of them, Nayoung and Kyulkyung, made it to I.O.I.
Man, Wee Woo feels like a song for Red Velvet, although the chorus ultimately lets me down. Some great visuals there.
Given that the new season of P101 is gonna be a boyband, it should be interesting to see which songs they pick as the ITNW equivalent. DBSK's Hug or Mirotic? Shinee's Replay? 2PM's Again and Again? Big Bang's Lies or Haru Haru (or Fantastic Baby)? Something something Infinite or BTS?

On the subject of "mature", the first lines in Black Widow are sung by Kyla, who turned fifteen on December 26th.
