The disengagement is done, and they still won't disarm?

The PA announced that after discussions with hamas and islamic jihad leaders, they will not be forcing the terrorist groups to disarm.

"The weapons of the resistance were founded to defend the Palestinian people and resist the occupation," he added. "The Gaza victory was achieved with the weapons of the resistance, which is the only strategy to drive Israel out of the rest of our lands."

Israel has pulled out of the gaza strip, and the terrorist groups there want to keep their guns? They consider the pull out a victory for themselves. They consider their tactics of terrorism successful. IMO the only thing the disengagement accomplished was it give the terrorists hope. They believe that what they are doing is working, and they will continue to do it. The disengagement was supposed to be a step towards peace. How is refusing to disarm, and instead pledging to continue to "resist" making a step towards peace? The goal of extremist groups has never been, and will never be the establishment of a palestinian state, but is and will continue to be, the destruction of Israel. They will not disarm, they will not stop attacking, they will not relent, until Israel is destroyed. And the disturbing fact is, the PA/PLO is not making any attempts to stop them.

Israel makes concession after concession, isn't it their turn now?
