I did a little bit of work this morning, which was nice, although tedious and boring. I had to destroy documents and objects relating to a case we just finished.
In between breaking down boxes, throwing things out, and generally cleaning out the huge room everything for that case was stored in, I did my normal work readings. What did I read before lunch today you ask? Quite a lot, but only the most interesting are posted below, in the order they were read.
Suicide surfers - A group of teenage surfers from various Gush Katif communities are planning on heading out into the waves on their boards to die in protest of the israel disengagement/pull out from gaza.
The Great Train Robbery happened today in 1963. Read all about it.
Stocks and Trees - A rubber tree plant is hooked up to the stockmarket. Home Depot's stock does well, the planet lives. If it does bad, they planet dies, and they take it back to home depot for a new one (Home Depot has a policy of replacing planets for free for upto a year after purchase, how nice of them).
What is the
Vingean Singularity? "In future studies, a technological singularity (also referred to as just the Singularity) is a predicted future event when technological progress and societal change accelerate due to the advent of superhuman intelligence, changing our environment beyond the ability of pre-Singularity humans to comprehend or reliably predict."
Dukes of Hazzard in legal trouble? It seems the WB only owned the rights to the TV series, not the movie. Next time make sure you're legally allowed to make the movie before pumping millions into it!
Drunk drive sues police for failing to stop her from driving drunk and getting into an accident.
