Redundancy Update
It's been awhile since I've posted on this and the reason for that is because there was NO update forthcoming.
Today the boss called me into his office and asked how long I thought it would take for me to realistically hand over most of my job to our Preferred OUtsourced Supplier (The Indian company, although they are located here in Melb). I couldn't give a definitive answer, but then asked him, why was he asking the questions. Was there news.
The news was that he'd spoken to his Manager last night and put forward my name. So, it definitely looks a goer!!! YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY
We tentatively have the 15th June as a target date as long as I can hand over all the information to the other company. I mentioned that one of the Indians had actually said to me 'You might have to hit it into my head because i'm dumb'. Which caused me to worry a bit when he said that, and the look on my boss's face when I told him, caused him the same worry.
So now we work towards the 15th June and this can actually blow out to 30th June (end of Financial Year! which could pose some problems as it's a Financial application I look after!)
