Day 06 - Favorite episode of your favorite t.v show
So I know I said 'Perfect Strangers' is my favorite t.v. show. But I don't want to put the same stuff up here over and over. So, we're going to go with a Stargate SG1 theme today.
Favorite episode has to be 'Window of Opportunity', in which the day keeps repeating itself, but only for Jack and Teal'c.....and which is probably most everyone's favorite episode. I will expand upon my reasons.
1) The music. I love the kooky music that plays at intervals throughout the episode.
2) Jack O'Neill being frustrated is never a bad thing....unless the frustration is directed AT you. Richard Dean Anderson is absolutely flawless in this episode.
3) One thing I always loved about Stargate (both SG1 and Atlantis) was its ability to be funny. Some stuff was just downright silly. But it always fit. And that was never more apparent than in this episode. The humor was pitch-perfect all the way through.
4) Chris Judge. Particularly in the first half of the series, he didn't get to show his comedic skills often. But the man has wonderful comic timing.
5) The reaction shots of everyone else. This episode is focused pretty much on O'Neill and, to an extent, Teal'c. The rest of the cast, though, isn't exactly laying down on the job. Whether it's funny or dramatic, their reactions to what's going on are spot on perfect.
6) Which brings us to the main reason this is my favorite episode. This ep is a prime example of SG1 at it's best. Because while you have the humor, there are some amazing dramatic moments towards the end as well. RDA kills me everytime when he's talking to the alien scientist about the scientist's wife. It's a wonderful balance.
The whole episode is a great showcase for the actors, the writers, and the director. I don't think I could ever get tired of it.

Hmmm. I require thought on this one.
Oh, I know! 'A Hundred Days', which is from Season 3 of SG1. A lot of that is probably because I'm such a Sam/Jack shipper. But some of it is that I just didn't like the episode. At all.
