It is a curious phenomenon...
Until this past Wednesday or Thursday I have been almost completely lost to the world.
In the week following the New Year I completely lost my voice. In order to get my voice back I have been drinking lots of hot liquids - hot tea, hot coffee, hot lemonade, and just plain old hot water. I have sucked on cough drops until my tongue was seemed to be permanently dyed with red, yellow, and blue. To restrain myself from talking I secluded myself at Granpa's for nearly a solid week. So there has been very little communication between me and the world.
Upon returning to the world I have seen two movies, The Painted Veil and Pan's Labyrinth. I went to a birthday party at Dave & Busters. I have spent at least 12 hours talking on the phone. I was invited to join a Star Wars D&D campaign - I have declined at present. And I have been making small strides towards employment.
I have also been toying with the idea of doing something for my birthday this year. A few years ago, I swore to myself that I wouldn't bother about my birthday until someone throws me a surprise party or until I turn 30 (whichever comes first). But this year my birthday is the Friday after Easter, Friday the 13th, and I can't help but think that this might be a good year for a birthday party. Just a thought.
