It's been a pretty frazzly week around the house. Amy's getting things sorted out for her big hike, and it starts this weekend. The good thing for me: Road trip!
- Got a call from the next door neighbor; she's at the hospital with a blood clot. I probably should have asked where, but she played the severity down even though they want to keep her overnight.
- I thought my car's clutch was acting flaky yesterday, today when I went to put the car next door (I usually keep the truck next door so it looks like someone's home when Shirley leaves the house-- I'd offered to do so when she said she didn't want to sell Sam's old truck for that reason) it drove entirely normally. So who knows if I'm going to be learning how to do a clutch job.
- I've been the on-call guy at the office since Thursday. I am so looking forward to 0900 tomorrow.
- I missed my Yoga class last Wednesday. Today's not looking good, either. Actually, as I was typing this, I got a call from the instructor: Not looking good for her, either.
- Since I'll be out of town next week, I will miss both the CAR meeting and the Tech Day. This'll make... four straight missed CAR meetings; apparently even though I have nothing going on on Thursday I keep having stuff happen on the third Thursday of the month.
- Oddly enough, the Old Man is doing a bit better than he used to. He's developed a limp in a hind leg, but given the sorts of ailments he usually has, this is pretty minor. Plus, it doesn't seem to be getting in the way of his favorite activity, which is snoozing.
- Over the past week or two, I've found out that there are three computer games and a movie coming out that all sound great-- and look at me, the next six months or so I'll have some free time for that sort of thing! The timing is great! Well, except then I found out _when_ this year: Fourth quarter. 1st September. Christmastime release. 17 December. So much for _that_ idea.
- I'm looking forward to my road trip. It'll be good to put in some time in a car, plus I hit the Atlanta office so I might remember what my cow-orkers look like and then hit my aunt's place in the Outer Banks on the way home to see Mom and my uncle.
- It was finally almost dry enough in the back yard to go try to return the tent that Gram's car is under to upright. I was incorrect on two points: 1) It wasn't actually that dry, and 2) The tent doesn't need tilted back up, it's a total loss. The poles I could see when there was a bunch of snow looked fine, but most of the rest of them have bent or cracked. The car, however, still looks OK, but it's too muddy to try to get it out.
- I thought I sold my old iMac on eBay last week. The buyer never paid, so I get to relist it when I get home. I thought something like that might happen when I found that the person who bought it signed up for eBay that day...
Thus completes my list of random status updates-- or, at least the ones I remembered to type in here.
