My kitty
saturday tika, my kitty, jumped out of her bed at a loud noise and immediately started limping on her right rear leg. i called the vet and they told me to wait 2-4 hours and see if she still seemed to be hurting before taking her to critter e.r.
so around 7 that night she went to the e.r. and she had a double fracture of her femur. it was almost $700 for her to hang on meds over the weekend, had to pick her up this morning at 730 and take her to a surgeon. i was told an estimate of anywhere from $1800 - $3000 to get it properly worked on... when the vet saw my reaction to that estimate, after finding about the $700, he said he would look into where she should go if my vet couldn't do orthopedic surgery. he suggested another animal hospital, and any time now she should be going into surgery at a place just north of here. I may not be able to pick her up for a couple days, and he was willing to do it for $700... I'm so glad it's not $2k and it's a good doctor.
anyway... send out some good kitty wishes... she's almost 16 years old and to have to undergo surgery is tougher at that age.
