Reminder about Plagiarism
Hello arashirabu community!
I want to remind you all once again that plagiarism is against the rules here (considered against our rule of respecting others) and will not be tolerated. Fics inspired by books, television, movies and so on are absolutely fine - and credit to what you are basing your story on is welcomed. For example, if you write a Jun/Ohno story based on the television series Agents of Shield, a simple line stating "Based on Agents of Shield" in your header would be great. Your mods will not be all that strict about plot similarities if you are writing your own unique scenes, but direct copy and pasting of dialogue or paragraphs from any other written work with only minor differences is considered plagiarism.
Another form of plagiarism, and what has happened here once more, is copying fiction from another fandom - from another author - and claiming the story is yours. Stealing from other authors directly in that way is disrespectful to the original author, and the rest of the writing community here who take the time to use their own imaginations and share. What if your Arashi work was stolen and posted as a Supernatural story, for example? How would you feel if another fandom was praising another author for YOUR work?
This is unacceptable and in the future I will be banning users who do this. It's upsetting to have to be posting about this again.
Please follow the rules and show each other kindness. arashirabu is meant to be a safe place for ANY author to share their work and have fun and we do our best to keep things as open as possible.
