Well... I only got to celebrate one of those though, lulz =-='
Friday, Tracy, Kevin and I went to the mall so she could find boots, but we all ended up getting a couple of things from Gap since they had a sale ($10 tshirts woot!). After the mall, Tracy went home and Kevin and I went to NagaNaga for ramen. It was only ok, I like Daikokuya a lot better!
Saturday was when Kevin and I celebrated Valentines day! He picked me up at 9:30 and we got buns for lunch from Kiki's bakery before heading off to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach. We bought tickets for the aquarium and for whale watching, went in and wandered around for a while until it was 11:45 when we were supposed to go stand in line at the harbor. We finally boarded and sat down to wait.
...and wait....and wait. We only saw one sealion on the buoy, where I remember there used to be tons when we'd gone whale watching in elementary school. We were sitting with this guy and his little girl, she was so cute, running around like crazy XD Ah... kind of miss when something like that would be exciting, but we got pretty bored because there were no whales to be seen!
Eventually, the captain was like sorry guys, we have to turn back :(
We were in sight of the harbor and i think everyone had given up hope of seeing anything, but all of a sudden I guess a couple of people spotted something near another boat. So...everyone was scrambling around, and our boat went over to the other boat and we got to see some blue whale spouts! :D Hooray, not a total waste of $25 haha.
We ended up coming back later than we were supposed to because of it (the next boat out was supposed to be at 3, and we came back at 3:15...hope the next people had more luck spying whales than we did). After that, we went back to the car to get our buns and at lunch before going back in and checking out the rest of the museum, touching sharks, rays, and other stuff, battling hordes of small children, etc haha
Kevin got to feed some lorikeets though! that was pretty cool :)
When we finished with the museum, we walked around the harbor, and ended up in the back porch of one of the restaurants where there was a smoking area with a fire, and rested there for a bit after getting tea and coffee from a drink place. We wandered around some more and decided to take a quick walk around the museum once more before heading off for our dinner reservation at 9:30.
This time, since it was almost 8pm, most of the little kids were gone, so it was a different, and kind of nicer experience. There wasn't that rushed feeling you have when you're in line, and we got to stare at some of the critters we liked best XD
Finally, we left for Bucca di Beppo in Pasadena, got there and waited to be seated. It was so crowded @_@;
We got seated and ended up ordering the shrimp di friavolo, and mild italian sausage with bell peppers . I got a basil mojito (...wtf i tasted no basil >[ ) and Kevin got a strawberry cream soda and we were set :D
The shrimp diavolo was delicious *g* (...but i already knew that since i'd had it before). The sausage was good too, but I'm not so much into eating so much sausage...so Kevin got a good portion of it haha. After dinner we went back to Kevin's house and bummed for a while (aka...food coma on the couch haha) until I went home.
Sunday, Kevin and I went to Tea Station and got tea, then went over to this place called RJs Patisserie next door to get little cake things to share. After that we went to the Temple City Civic center (it's like a grassy mini park area) and exchanged cards and nommed on cake :3
We left and ended up going on a quest for chopsticks at a couple of stores before I had to go back home for dinner, and head back to school
(buuu, i wanted to go to Kevin's house and feast on Chinese new year food! ><' )
