GREETINGS FELLOW SUPERHUMAN DO-GOODERS!
For those of you who don’t know me, I am RESET, a senior member... and at present ad hoc leader... of the Society of Heroes Against Reprehensible Perpetrators (S.H.A.R.P.).
As you may have heard, S.H.A.R.P. is sponsoring a recruitment drive next Saturday, April 12. What you may not know is Why. Why, indeed...
Shortly before our so-called "ceasefire" last October with V.I.N.D.I.C.T.I.V.E. (Portland’s consortium of scum, villainy & neer-do-well’s), the hi-tech crimefighting dynamo & founder of S.H.A.R.P. known as INDUSTRIAL went missing. Granted, it’s not unusual for a veteran of the war on crime to go deep undercover, eschewing contact with his fellow heroes as he cuts the soft underbelly of the criminal underworld to the quick.
It is, however, unusual for any hero to miss one of our famous monthly Taco Nights, let alone six in a row.
Months of exhaustive investigation have availed us no leads on Industrial’s whereabouts. Neither has "putting the screws" to various underworld informants. We’ve even posted his picture on milk cartons (see attached).
In the meantime, the city’s supervillain population has spiked, no doubt the work of the diabolical DR. NEBULOUS, capitalizing on Industrial’s absence. Henchmen R’ Us have been sold out for weeks, and the city’s constabularies are swamped with strange and unusual crimes. Clearly, the time for action is at hand.
Thus, the senior members of S.H.A.R.P. have decided to recruit new recruits to aid us in our search. We’re looking to recruit the Rose City’s best & brightest superheroes. All recruits will need to provide a brief origin story, demonstration of their powers, and undergo a series of heroic trials.
The S.H.A.R.P. recruitment drive will be held at R. PALATE (219 SW 6th Ave), promptly at 6pm, Saturday, April 12, 2008. (Coincidentally, our intelligence reports indicate that V.I.N.D.I.C.T.I.V.E. is also planning a gather that very same evening; further investigation is warranted.)
