Thought of the day: The process of growing from imitations to becoming original is the Japanese's excellent talent and strong capability.
These are the words of Japanese bacteriologist, Noguchi Hideo-san. I see. Japanese capability. So, back then, we had cassettes for listening to music. Then it became a CD, then an MD. I was really moved by that. "It gets this small!!" And it has a cover so it never breaks. And I really loved MDs. (laughs) I always thought, "MD saikou~~~!!!" when I was 16. That's when I first got it with an MD player. I thought it was amazing. It easily goes in pockets too. We were the MD era, but it left quickly, didn't it? That was just really depressing. Since it kept evolving soon after that. I wanted the MD era to be a bit longer. I still have MDs, I have a lot. I have the MD deck too. I even loved the sound it made when you put it in. (laughs) And it surprisingly has a lot of colors too. For me, I like the blue. Don't you have those? When you know what songs are in what MD according to its color so you didn't have to write it? I wonder if it'll come again, the MD era. But then again we're always evolving. I have to stop fussing over MDs and start to get on with the era and the trends or else I'll be left behind. I'll do my best [to catch up to the era]! (laughs)

Thought of the day: To smack one's lips.
Ok. I have no clue. O~~~K~~~ (laughs) This is an idiom that expresses the tastiness of food. Ah~, that's what it means. I see. Yummy food. Generally for me, when I get hooked on a certain food, I'm forever hooked. I think my period of 'hooked time' is long. At one point, there's this pizza toast you can make yourself. You put margarine on top of the bread, add ham, mayonnaise, and ketchup. Then I put the flappy melting cheese. The square one. Then when you toast it for 4.5 minutes, it's really good. It's perfect. When I was hooked on that, I ate that every morning. That and coffee. (laughs) It was always that before I go to work. After that I was hooked on oyster fries, then bread rolls from the convenience store. The red bean margarine. I ate it 3 meals a day. When I get hooked, it's long. Yeah. Recently, ...oh! The other day, I ate globefish. Globefish. Yeah. This is gonna be about my radio friend again, but I have an expensive impression on the globefish. We decided to go to a restaurant like that for once and so we went it was really good. Then we drank fin sake. It was really good, but my radio friend gets drunk easily when he drinks Japanese sake type stuff, so he got drunk again with this. "Fin sake is gooood~." (laughs) "Ohhh, crap, I'm drunk~." [in Kansai dialect] It's really funny. Well, if I have a smacking lip story again, I'll let you know.

Thought of the day: Confidence is something you want to gain yourself.
Oh~ nice. These are words from the 58th Sumo Grand Champion (Yokozuna), Chiyonofuji-san. Ah~, isn't it amazing? When I was little, I always watched Chiyonofuji. He was really strong. Even though his body wasn't that large, he would throw down his opponent. I watched him the most. His physique and face looked a lot like my classmate, Kacchan. That's one thing I remember. I thought, "How nice for Kacchan." (laughs) I have that kind of memory. I wonder what Kacchan's doing now. He got married, and oh yeah, I wrote a letter for his wedding ceremony. And I got a New Year's email from him. "Thank you for last year." (laughs) We didn't see each other even once. So this year, I want to see him...I wonder how many years I haven't seen him. It's been about 4 years I think. He came to see my stage play one time. I got tickets for him, and he came with this girlfriend (not married yet) and I took a picture with him, and that was the last time I saw him. And he was with his girlfriend so it was hard to go eat with him afterwards so I didn't. So yeah, if next time I do a stage play, I'll only get him one ticket. (laughs) Kacchan, are you listening? Let's go eat out soon!

Thought of the day: To have a spacious/wide face.
I've heard of this before. It means that you know a lot of different things. Ne? This is an idiom that means to know a lot of people and have a wide range of social relations. I see. Mmm...I...don't have a spacious face. I don't know if I compare to the members though (laughs) I think that Matsujun has the most spacious face. Sho-kun too. But I really think Matsujun has a spacious face. For example, we recording shows and stuff. I see him talking to the guest and being really friendly. I ask him, "Have you co-starred with them before in something?" and he just says, "No, I've just drank with them before." That's most of his replies. I think, "At what kind of place are you drinking [to be with a bunch of other celebrities]!?" (laughs) I wonder if there's a restaurant where celebrities gather. I'm really not good with those kinds of places, so I'm mainly with my radio friend. I do want to have a meal with various people, but for some reason, I always go to my radio friend. (laughs) This is kind of creepy. (laughs) Like, I don't mind sometimes to go out with other people if they ask, "Want to go eat out today?" I really don't mind at all, but even before that, my radio friend is in my presence. Or it's Ueshima Ryuuhei. I haven't gone out to eat with Ryu-san lately, but I got an email. "What is Oh-chan doing lately? I want to have a meal again soon." When they say it like that, I do get happy. So yeah, I do want to have a meal with Ryu-san soon. When that time comes, then something will probably happen. (laughs) Yeah, sometimes I do drink with other people.
