It was revealed on the 18th that Ohno Satoshi-san of popular group "Arashi" will serve as the lead role of the drama "Kyou no Hi wa Sayounara", which will be aired within the NTV charity program "24 Hour Television 36 Love Saves the World" (8/24. 25 on air). It is the first time that Ohno-san will serve as the lead role of the drama within "24 Hour Television". He is the third member among Arashi, following Matsumoto Jun-san in 2008 and Ninomiya Kazunari-san in 2012.
What Ohno-san will act is a young man named Kota who becomes affected by cancer at age 29. He converses his enthusiasm, "I would like to face the difficult theme of 'living properly, and dying properly' in a sincere manner. In addition, I would like to carefully face Kota and properly act of Kota's 'strong intentions'."
The original work of "Kyou no Hi wa Sayounara" is from Miyuki Kazuya-san's journal during his fight against cancer called "Oozora e no Tabidachi Gan to Tatakai nagara mo Yume Mite ita Mirai" (bungeisha). Growing up in the suburbs, 29 year-old Kota dropped out of college and even switched jobs a few times. Just when he starts to dream of following a path into cooking, he is pronounced that he has cancer of the blood called malignant lymphoma. They will portray his appearance of facing life and death. Hashibe Atsuko-san of dramas such as "Freeter, Ie wo Kau." and "Boku no Ikiru Michi" will work on the screenplay, and staff of dramas such as "Youkai Ningen Bemu" and "Nakuna, Hara-chan" will produce it.
This year is the 36th time of this program, which airs every summer. "Arashi" will be the main personality, and Oshima Miyuki-san of the comedic trio "Morisanchuu" will be the charity marathon rummer.
