You guys are absolutely fantastic. Just wanted to get that out before I say anything else. It's only been one day since we kickstarted the fundraiser here in the community for Japan's disaster relief, and our current amount raised?
$587.39 USD.
How amazing is that? We might even reach $2000 at the rate we're currently going!
Now, some quick notes about the
main fundraising post before I move on:
- If you've already paid for something and I have not informed the seller about it yet, please PM or leave me a comment! It gets pretty confusing with all the donations pouring in, and some also come with no notes or are purely donations and not purchases of any services/goods, so it is entirely possible that I might have missed yours by accident.
- Sellers, please don't delete your comments after you've commented on the post! The Masterlist of offers is updated manually by myself, with
lullabyeforyou chipping in to help me compile the comments into handy links; more likely than not, we won't notice that you've deleted and reposted your comment, and end up keeping a dead link in the Masterlist because of that. If you have anything to add or fix, please use the edit function if you have a paid account, or simply reply to your own comment with the necessary details.
- Like before with Haiti, I have put up a sticky post on the main page of the community
here, and tried something new this time around with a fundraising thermometer widget instead of a text update. I'll try to update it once a day so you guys can also keep track of just how much money we're raising for the cause so far!
Onto the second half of this post!
Since a fair amount of people have expressed interest in selling and/or auctioning off goods with proceeds going towards this fundraiser, I will be waiving the no sales rule in the community for this one occasion to host a local garage sale. It will consist of transactions between fans only, and all proceeds earned from these sales must go towards the fundraiser, or they will not be allowed in the post. The things you sell also do not have to be limited to Arashi-related items, and can range anywhere from secondhand books to KAT-TUN singles to jewelry! I'll be making the official post with all details later tonight, so that will give you some time to do a quick inventory and see if you have anything you might want to donate, and maybe even snap a few pictures for your sales comment.
There is also something very exciting planned in the near future for this fundraising effort that will involve many different contributors in the fandom. I can't divulge much more than that at this point, but do keep an eye out! ♥
Thank you to all of you once again for making this happen, and keep up the awesome work!!
