The second part of the GANTZ film series “
GANTZ PERFECT ANSWER” had its Japan premiere today where the cast and director of movie turned up to greet more than 3000 fans at the Tokyo International Forum.
During the event, Ninomiya got to see his co-star Matsuyama’s reaction to his homemade chocolate cake present. This is the second year in a row Ninomiya had baked a birthday cake for the actor, who celebrated his birthday on March 5. It has been reported Matsuyama had said this year’s 30kg cake, which measured 50 centimetres across and was shaped like the GANTZ ball, was more amazing than last year’s.
“Wow, I didn’t expect it to come out here,” he said.
After reading the “スキ (like, love)” message on the back of the cake, Matsuyama was even more surprised.
“It’s amazing what stars do,” he said.
“This is my perfect answer. I started baking in the morning. We’ve been working on this movie for so long you know,” Ninomiya said.
The first GANTZ movie is still being shown in cinemas, so the second part’s quick release will give fans the chance to see how the story finishes sooner than usual sequels.
“This is the sequel that people have been anticipating. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it’s turned out as well,” Ninomiya said.
Even though the original GANTZ manga series is still going on, the movie’s actors have said they hope fans enjoy the movie’s own original ending.
