Woah woah woah. It’s been so long since I did a bangui review! Things just got too busy! I doubt I’ll be more free this year… but I do always keep reviews at the back of my mind!!! I do enjoy doing it after all!

Well today’s review will be a short one though. Really! It’ll be like, the shortest review I’ve ever done. That is if anyone still remembers me anyway… It’s been so long since I was last actively doing reviews here. What, two years? Anyway it’s a short one because I think many people would have seen this episode long ago. I mean, it aired over two weeks ago and the subs were out over a week ago after all? Still, enjoy! XD

PS: I posted about some Japanese vocab from this episode here if you are interested.

Today’s guest is none other than Sekai no Owari!

And gosh! I was so excited when I found out!!! Because I had just mass downloaded Sekaowa (as they were called in short) songs recently! The first time I heard of them, was during Best Artist last year I think. I think it was Best Artist at least… then saw them again on MSSL (music station super live), and then again on Kouhaku. Each time they performed the same song, in the same outfit, doing almost the same thing. Dragon Night, with Fukase, their lead singer, holding a flag, as seen in the above screen cap. I was attracted to the song the first time I heard it, and so I noted down the name of the song and downloaded it after. I ended up listening to only Dragon Nigh on replay for quite a few days, so I decided to check out the rest of their songs, and went on a crazy downloading spree. Only to find that I really LOVE their songs. Like ALL of it! After watching this episode, I further went on to download every song they came up with after their major league debut and I’m really loving them! I highly recommend Dragon Night, Love the Warz, Magic, Earthchild, Fukai Mori and Starlight Parade. Well that’s like a long list… but I just love their songs THAT much! Their songs have a dream like quality to it that just fits my tastes… :P

Sorry for all that frailing… but well if you really hate Sekaowa that much, then this episode of AnShi isn’t for you I’m afraid. ><

Here we go, Sekaowa and the boys!

They talked about DJ LOVE and that clown mask. Oh I should introduce. The clown mask guy is DJ LOVE. He’s supposed to be in charge of sound selection. During live performances (at least those on music programs) he just kinda… stands around doing nothing? Then there’s the guy in a top hat. He’s Nakajin, he plays the guitar. Then the guy in brown hair is Fukase, the lead vocalist, while the girl hiding at the back is Saori, the pianist.

So back to the DJ talks. He wears the mask pretty much everywhere. In the greenrooms, even during rehearsals if there are cameras around… while taking the transportation too. Basically, unless you know DJ LOVE personally, you won’t get to see him without a mask.

Sekaowa’s big break came in 2013 when their song RPG became the theme song of the movie Crayon Shin-chan… as you can read from the subs :P

Apparently Nino has been interested in Sekaowa since before they made their big break. Apparently he played their songs on his radio show, Baystorm before! But well, I don’t listen to Baystorm, so I never knew about them.

So Nino does a info segment on Sekaowa. If you don’t already know, Sekai no Owari means ‘End of the World’, and that was the English name the band adopted when they held a concert in France. Well there’s not much in terms of graphics to show really, because they were just sitting around and talking… though there were some highlights in between. I mean, the talk was interesting, but they were just sitting around and talking ya know?

I’ll just pick some highlights to introduce.

Everyone is younger than Arashi.

Their ages are pretty close to Arashi’s though, so Sho happily starts quizzing them about the manga they have read when they are young… from dragon ball to slam dunk to Inachuu table tennis club… and then even about the Sunday morning cartoon.

The four sekaowa members were childhood friends, and they decided to make a live house together, from scratch, with the money saved from their part time jobs. And somewhere along the way, they decided to make a band together. And there an indies band was created.

Fukase and Saori were kindergarten friends!

Fukase and Nakajin were primary school friends, and he and LOVE were high school friends. Amazing huh? I don’t even REMEMBER any of my kindergarten friends. Even primary school, I barely remember their faces, let alone their names. Crazy!

Cute chibi photos!!! XD Of course, DJ LOVE is a mystery hahaha.

What did they start doing after they made a band?

A: They started staying together.
N: Wrong, it’s room share.

LOL. Bratty Nino!
That’s their share house living room. Really cool decorations huh! It’s a bit dark for me though. I would prefer it if the overall feel was more cheery. But still, a very cool room! Fukase was in charge of the living room decoration.

Cool eh? Those medical decorations!

They start talking about their share house lives. Arashi is of course concerned about personal time and privacy. Sekaowa replies that it’s just like staying with your family.

Arashi asked if they had any conflicts before. Like ‘THAT YOGHURT WAS MINE!’. Hahahaha

Of course, Arashi just had to share their own dorm story. Aiba the underwear thief hahaha! XD

Sho then asks about the toilet… Why did he ask that?

Because he wanted to ask the next question: Do the guys enter the bath together?

HAHAHAHA

Just look at Sekaowa’s faces at the question!
Nakajin smartly throws the question back to Arashi. XD
We all heard of it tons of times before right? But who could stop Sho from telling their bathing stories for the millionth time, and with acting too!
XD
Sekaowa, Saori in particular, is shocked!
Ok on to another question. Actually at the start….?
O: (They were called) End of this world!

HAHAHAHA leader! So dark!
Ohno tried to explain his reason.

End of this world is like Death Metal. LOL! Who’s funny face hahahahaha!
Anyway, that’s the correct answer.
So Fukase wore the clown mask first. Then they decided that it was too tough for the lead singer to wear the mask all the time, so someone else wore it instead… and then eventually that person left the band and DJ LOVE came in.

Next they talked about where Fukase gets the inspiration for all the song lyrics he wrote. He’s pretty much in charge of all the song lyrics. Aiba makes a guess, but gets it wrong.

He gave it another go. He got it partially right though, the last two words were night scene. There’s something else in front though.

Jun gives it a go too.

Nino gets pissed lol! Because he already showed the last two words is night scene! The right answer is factory night scene!

He rides for over 6 hours at a time apparently! The song ‘Starlight Parade’ was conceptualised during his rides. Ohno and Sho also shares their song writing experience. Ohio’s one was a big failure. Sho does it similar to Fukase, imagining the big picture. For Fukase though he imagines a video, since he’s in charge of their PVs too.

The staff filmed a video of the factory night scenes, and it fit the song Starlight Parade so well. You really have to see the video, listen to the song, to feel it.

Pretty right? It fits the song really well, esp the lyrics! I didn’t like this song that much before this, but loved it after watching this ‘PV’. It’s nicer than the official PV lol!

Anyway, Saori has perfect pitch… so they played various sounds and made Saori reproduce it on the piano.

One of the tunes played was the racecourse fanfare, and Junba fooled around :P

Of course, the part we’ve all been waiting for. The DJ LOVE audition! DJ LOVE wants a body double, in case anything happens to him, hence the audition.

They were so thoroughly embarrassed. And wanted it cut out. But of course, why would the staff cut this out? XD

Jun won the contest! XD

A tedious restaurant segment was mixed in… just the usual, but the meat looks really, really good! I won’t elaborate on it because it’s supposed to be a short post :P (well we’re reaching the end anyway)

That was the first item.

Now the second. Just look at that marbled meat!!!!

Now I’m hungry!!!!

It’s a freaking 1m long!

Another pic cos i’m HUNGRY!

Yummyyyyy!!! What’s the with name of the sauce? I don’t know. Part 2 is super top smile sauce by the way… anyway that’s all for the restaurant segment!

They reproduced the sekaowa share house in the studio. And is’s a darn good reproduction.

That’s a photo of their real house. Looks pretty darn alike right? The sofas were identical! And they had to reproduce the painting too!!!

Anyway. It’s a party about the foods the sekaowa guys wanna eat at the end of the world. For Nakajin it’s ramen.

They had to play a shiritori game though… only the winner gets to eat.

Jun won!

Mou. I’m starving now!

DJ LOVE would like to eat steak. *stomach growls*

Mou!!!!

More steakkkk!

So they play shiritori again.

DJ LOVE won this time!!! But how will he eat the steak?

He misjudges the distance on the first try and fed it to his nose…

But get’s it the second time XD

Because of the mask however, his emotions can’t be properly conveyed XD

Meat!!!

The masked man eating is the focal point XD

Hahaha! The poor clown! XD

Lastly, an announcement from Sekaowa. Their new album “Tree” is now on sale!

Hai! And that’s was all for today’s episode! XD
