Horrible VERY BLACK DAY

Nov 21, 2006 06:31

I knew the day was going to go from bad to worse when I missed the train by (that's right) 1 minute. Stupid trains and their punctuality. Why can't they be 1 minute late for once (this is a strange gripe to have, because I always complained about trains in England always being late). So I had to go to Mito for training, which is why the train ride which made me stressed because I always think I'm going to miss the stop and have to get off and come back (since it's happened before in Tokyo). I got to Mito and tried to go to the immigration office where you must pay 6,000 yen ($60) to get back into Japan if you go out of the country more than once. What an equally stupid thing to have to pay for. I asked for directions from 3 people, and the last person finally gave me clear, precise directions which I could follow. However, this took so long that I got to the office after they closed for an hour long lunch break. And then I had to go to training. The training was useless because I failed the test given at the end of it so that you can evaluate people's competence in spoken English. I'm far too harsh on them, so alas...I failed. It rounded out the VERY BLACK DAY.

But, I got to eat sushi with A and J, wherein J complained about his Japanese girlfriend being too clingy, and both of them had horse sushi. I was too grossed out to try it. ugh. Unagi (eel) sushi was very oishii though...yum.

food, work
