Allison and I went to the guys' flat tonight with some kiwis and apples. They asked us why we came over, and we said, 'to eat, of course!'. Like the good boys they are, they jumped right up and started cooking for us, whilst we watched. It was so funny. Allison and I just messed around on her laptop, and told each other that we need to send guys we know to this flat so they may be educated in cookery and cleaning.
Socialist Ryan even made Allison a vegitarian curry instead of the regular chicken one the rest of us had. Shaun said it was a 'guilt trip' and Ryan called it 'psycological warfare' to get her to be a carnivore again. After everyone finished eating, there was a lull in the conversation, so I jumped up and ran to the kitchen saying, 'I get to do the dishes!' Shaun protested (as he's the one who usually does them, because for some reason he *likes* washing the dishes) but I simply put on his pink rubber gloves and started. He came over later to the sink, put his hand on my shoulder, and said, 'thanks for doing the dishes sweet!', to which I replied, 'you're welcome, dear heart!'
That's gender roles reversed for you.
[Everyone told me I just wanted to do the dishes to wear the pink gloves. What they don't know is that pink and I have an uneasy relationship. I've decided I don't hate pink, and pink has demonstrated that it looks good on me combined with other colors. I have yet to overcome my great prejudice against neon pink.]
