First of all, I must say that I am very much looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight, for I have been sleeping on couches and pull-out couches for past six nights.
I am alive, by the way.
A lot of things happened this month. My parents came to the States; I done be graduated; My family, host family, and my best friend ate dinner together in celebration of my graduation. The graduation was followed by a week of lethargic relaxation (for both my parents and I -- they were getting over time difference, and I was getting over post final exam syndrome), spending lots of quality time with my family, and translating. It was been a loooong time since my family has been together like this, all four of us. The last time was two and a half years ago, around the time of my sister's wedding. We're having a good time. We have a lot to talk (and lovingly? bicker) about.
My grades from the last semester was B, B, A, A, A, with GPA of 3.600, which makes it my second highest-scoring semester (the highest GPA I got in college was 3.721). My cumulative GPA is 3.396. The lowest GPA I had was 3.141. I took 39 classes, and two of them were writing intensive. I had two C's and one C+.
Right now I'm waiting for OPT (Optional Practical Training), which is an extension of student visa that allows me to seek employment and work in the States for one year. It might be another month before I get an answer. I hope I get it soon, though, because--
Well. I was asked to apply for a job. I applied for a job. I was interviewed for a job -- for the first time in my life. I was nervous, because I'm bad with interviews (if you ever got turned down seven consecutive times in interviewing for visa, you would be too), but apparently I did well enough. I was offered the job. I accepted the offer. I signed the contract (which will be valid when I get my OPT).
So, if Lord provides and everything goes well, I will be starting work this August -- as a third grade teacher! At the school where I spent the best schoolyear of my life, run by the church I call home. I am not sure how I will do, but I am ready to try very hard. This school and this church means a lot to me.
In preparation to become a teacher, I signed up to go to Florida this July to take a crash course on education. I'm also helping with Bible School this summer to familizarize myself with working with children. My future boss is giving me a lot of help to get prepared, and she is very encouraging.
And somewhere along the way, my host mom got a new car. It's cool and all black.

I've also been traveling. My parents and I went down to The Lake with my sister's in-laws for a weekend. The water was too chilly to dip in, I had a cold, and the fishing was unsuccessful, but we had a lot fo fun still.
Then I had my birthday, and we went to see the Pirates of the Caribbeans 3 on its opening night.
Then my parents, my sister, her husband, and I went to Washington D.C. We were there for four nights and five days (three full days and two hald days). I visited the Iwo Jima Memorial, the Bell of Friendship from Netherlands, The Native American Museum, the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum, The Capitol, The Library of Congress, The Union Station, The Capitol Hill Baptist Church, The Washington Monument, The World War II Memorial, the Korean War Memorial, the Vietnam War Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, The Arlington Cemetary, and the Kennedy family grave and the Tomb of the Unknowns inside it, and the back of the White House. (I'm sure I'm forgetting something on that list.) I got to see the Rolling Thunders, a part of the Memorial Day Parade, the Jefferson Memorials from a distance, and I also saw the presidential car -- twice! It was what, barely ten feet away from me? I didn't see through the window (I was too busy with the camera), but Mom says the First Lady waved back at her. Anyway, all of those five days added up to a lot of walking. The whole of my lower body is still sore. I enjoyed the trip very much, and I would surely like to go back there sometime later.
And while I was at DC, one of my new friends had her baby. It's a girl.
The next thing on my agenda is to sort through all the pictures I took. 90% if them are crappy and of no interest to anyone else but me. The remaining 10% is still a lot, though, because I bought TWO 1GB memory cards for this trip, and they are full.
Ah, and today is my brother-in-law's yonger brother's birthday. Good for him.
Good morning good evening good night, be writing again soon.
