Dreams That Keep Coming Back

Oh, I just saw this question a minute ago: "Had a dream that kept coming back"?
My answer: "More than a dream".

As I said, I actually have a few dreams that keep coming back. It's the same scenario, same place, and same people all the time -- except that I'm a bit older each time, of course. The most amazing thing is that I fall for the dream every single time. By that, I mean that even though I know what's going to happen, I don't realize it is a dream. I continue to surprise myself with how dense I really am.

There's one dream that I had three of four times, but I stopped having that particular dream about five years ago. When I'd wake up, I'd forget what the dream was about, but I would remember that I had this dream before. That is all. I also remember that it was a pleasant dream.

There's another dream that I keep having. It's been a while since I've had this one, too, but I remember this one clearly. It involves an ancient hotel/palace, a man living on the rooftop of a skyscraper apartment, an elevator, minty green bathroom stalls, a nun, a woman in an orange dress, and a subway tunnel in contruction. And me. Believe it or not, it does form some kind of a story, albeit illogical.

Then there are other things that aren't exactly repeated dreams. Different things will happen, but some places in my dream keep showing up, even though they are not real places. It's really weird, because it's like I know those places...but they're not real! While I'm dreaming, I know those buildings like the back of my hand, and I know how to get from here to there, as if these are actual buildings I've been to. And the consistency of those buildings in my dreams are amazing; I have the normal swoosh-and-the-scene-changes stuff that usually happens in a dream, but for the most part, the buildings don't have any tricks or surprises. I know where to go, and where things are.
...I'm not doing a good job at explaining this, am I?

For examples of these reappearing places, I think there's a movie theater, at least three different shopping malls, a hotel/palace thing, a tall apartment building that has an entire floor of just the bathroom stalls, and then some more.
To be more specific, in the hotel/palace thing, there's a very handsome set of narrow staircases that is always blocked off so nobody can get on it. But I'll get into another hallway, turn this way and that, and I'll always find that second, wider sets of staircase (there's one on the left and one on the right). It's always dim and yellow in there. The steps are covered with red carpet. The railing are dark wood, and they look heavy. The walls are painted some kind of vanilla-ish color. I remember one specific instance in a dream where I had an exciting chase up and down the stairs -- as I said, there's two sets of those stairs, and I'd be running up one set of stairs while someone else is running down the other set of stairs, etc. And the ends of the both sets of stairs meet on each floor, which means endless brain game.

Come to think of it, it's been a while since I had an exciting dream like that.
