Though I did not mention this in the post, much thanks to my dear friend Sir-in-need-of-a-new-nickname, who helped me out in a crisis.
I have to go and grate parmesan cheese now. Literally.

The annual Naruto Calendar character popularity vote!
(I look at all the fan-arts used in the calendars, and count who appeared how many times.)
This year, 5 characters tied for the first place: Uchiha Sasuke, Haruno Sakura, Namikaze Minato (Yondaime Hokage; Naruto's father), Uzumaki Kushina (Naruto's mother), and Uzumaki Naruto. They each made three separate appearances. This many characters tieing for the first place, and the small number of appearances, is both unusual and pleasing. I never had such even distribution of character appearances before. (Compare to the 2007 Calendar.)
The characters (7 of them) who made two appearances each are:
Tobi the good boy, Inuzuka Kiba, Hyuuga Hinata, Yamanaka Ino, Deidara of Akatsuki, Hyuuga Neji, and TenTen of no last name.
The characters (14 of them) who made one appearance each are:
Aburame Shino, Kankurou of the sand, Sakon, Ukon, Gaara of the Sand, Uchiha Itachi, Akamaru, Kakuzu of Akatsuki, Suigetsu, Karin, Juugo, Jiraiya the Legendary, Rock Lee, and Haku. Crow the puppet, Black Ant the puppet, a butterfly, and a few birds also made an appearance.
In total, 29 characters (+2 puppets) were featured in the fan-arts.
Compare that to 24.5 characters (+2 toads) from 2007. Sakura appeared 8 times; Naruto and Sasuke, 7 times each.
I wonder, I wonder...
