I had a really weird dream last night, involving Paul Smith♥, Sondre Lerche, Audrey Tautou, and a murder mystery @_@ ehh.
Anyways; I am happy as annie right now. Dad just got back from Singapore and got me new cds! Well, before he went, I gave him a list, as usual (why oh why most of the cds I want are unavailable here?). Usually, I also looked for cd covers and sometimes catalogue numbers for Japanese cds, but this time I made it in a hurry so I just wrote whatever that popped in my head.
So on the list was: Sufjan’s Illinois [Come on, it’s about tiiiiime! Actually I saw it in Aksara once but ‘twas so pricey and of course, gone in an instant], Maxïmo Park’s Missing Songs [I already have all the songs in it in mp3s, but hey, a true fan gotta have the real thing, no? Anything for the Park♥], Patrick Wolf’s Wind in the Wires [I read that his cds are hard to find outside Europe, but I want it so bad, so I put it in the list, just trying my luck], Sondre Lerche’s Duper Sessions [need more explanations? Scroll a few entries back], Gnarls Barkley’s St. Elsewhere [I’m crazy about that song Crazy, hah. But that’s all I know :P], and Dirty Pretty Things’ Waterloo to Anywhere [I gotta admit at first I wasn’t really interested. I guess it was because other previous after-Libertines stuff namely Babyshambles and Yeti didn’t really appeal to me. And the first thing I heard from DPT was a very bad quality gig recording of You Fucking Love It. Just recently I gave it another shot and got a decent version of that song and Bang Bang You’re Dead -- I instantly love it! HELLO Mr. Barat, how I miss your voice :)].
When I gave him the list, Dad went ‘You kidding? This much?’ (remember, this was the person who got me an ipod because he thought I wont buy as much cds if I have one XD) and so I said ‘Course not! I’m not sure if all these are available there, and it’s listed by priority, so maybe just two or three. Depending on the price too lah.’ But he just got back and he got me ALL SIX. All six on the list! ♪Oooohhhh bliss!♪ The Park, Patrick, and Sufjan ones are bloody expensive but well, most of the cds are imported copies, so nyah :p And Sondre’s copy-protected, boohoo :< But anyway I’m just happy. Bless HMV. Even though their stuff are often overpriced, but bless them anyway. And thank youuuuuuuu daddy!
I’m now borrowing my sis’ discman (I don’t have a cd player!) and letting my ipod rest for at least two weeks :D (->before I rip the cds to my laptop anyway, haha)
Seeing the aftermath of the earthquake is really saddening. Things like this make me wish I studied med or something at school so I could be a medical volunteer. But err... I’m scared of blood and needles - the last time I had my blood taken for a test, I was anxious for days before, and right after it I got sick O__o. So well, maybe the only things that I can do right now are donate and pray.
Oh yeah, french film festival is going right now. Three days, 4 films so far (none today because it was raining! huhu)
