Awww, so bittersweet! I really like the different style, though, it works well to convey Murata's feeling from both first and third perspectives. Thankyou Minion! ♥

"How long did you know?"
"I didn't. She knew when the doctors wouldn't tell her anything after the scans in March."
"March!? She didn'-! I never-? Why didn't she tell me!?"
"Because you're a doctor, Jose, and you're a very good doctor. You'd never have believed her if she told you it was fatal. You would have wanted more tests, more operations and more time in hospital. She didn't want to die like that. She wanted you to remember her as she lived not as she died."
"But couldn't I-?"
"No. It was fatal. Even Shinou couldn't have saved her. All he did was take the pain."
"Christine knew about Shinou?"
"Of course. She was still Daikenja. He was her king too."
"...did she love him?"
"..."
"...did she!?"
"...She loved you. Remember that, Jose, and let the rest go. It doesn't matter any more. It can't."
Good Omens - A.J. Crowley - Reflections on a man - GaramuinAugust 14 2006, 19:56:56 UTC
Aziraphale can never find Crowley on the third Thursday of each month. He can find Crowley's flat (which is more than he can usually manage if Crowley is sulking) and, with a little more effort, he can find the Bentley.
The demon, on the other hand, seems to all intents to just disappear just after midnight on the Wednesday. Aziraphale likes to think that after nearly six thousand years, he's gotten good at tracking Crowley. He knows where the demon likes to eat (the Ritz), where Crowley likes to visit (cafes that overlook shopping centres during rush hours) and where he lives.
But for all his work, all the Thursdays spent in reflection and checking for new possibilities. And he will come back home as Thursday night bleeds into Friday morning and find a lanky demon folded up in a battered armchair in the back of his shop, fast asleep.
One of these days, he might even ask Crowley where he goes...

I see safety in the darkness of your eyes. I'm so afraid.
He hears echoes of the past in the smart marching stride and half-amused grumbling.
I feel security in the silence of your amusement and paitence. I'm lost in the chatter.
He sees a future beneath the spoiled veneer and threads it with his own romance.
I feel hope, standing by your side. I'm useless where I am.
He sees a chance and takes it.
Don't let me go.

I wonder what actually did happen to Christine, though. If she was with Jose as we all assume, then she must have been pretty young when she died. :(
Lovely work, Minion! I love it! (*molests Minion's icon*)

And I agree that either Jose's aging at close to Mazoku rate or Christine was his mother. =P
Glad you liked and I'm sooo sorry about the cry-inducing. =(
