KKM - Gunter - The Solitary Path - PGaramuinAugust 12 2006, 01:27:56 UTC
The castle is empty (again) and he makes his way through the corridors, remembering to ask Doria how her brother's arm is healing. Through the gardens, remembering to stop and check Cheri-sama's latest project is thriving and ensure it gets enough water.
Then into the office, remembering that Gwendal will be home tomorrow and that the stack of paperwork needs to be sorted into matters he can deal with, matters he doesn't want to deal with and matters that he isn't to hear of until they've been happily resolved. The rustle of shuffling papers drowns out the silence, just a little bit.
Gunter pauses to look at a request by one of the militia colonels for a transfer. Reason given for the request? His oldest friend is transferring to Khrennkov, the other side of the kingdom and he doesn't want to be left behind.
Gunter sits at Gwendal's desk, in Gwendal's office, on a stool that he brought himself from the kitchen and stares at the parchment until his hands are steady enough to write "Approved" in red ink.
He sets it aside and throws himself back into his innumerable duties.
