Wolfram sprawled on the flagstones, stunned and soaked. He was shivering and shaken right down to his boots. This-this idiot of a human who mocked everything the great Maou should be and who had dared to insult him with such a crass proposal...and who had knocked aside his most powerful magic with almost contemptuous ease.
Gunter and Konrad were fussing over the boy and as Gwendel moved to hover discretely beside him, the concern in his eyes giving lie to his bland expression, Wolf found himself hoping that the hu-Yuuri wasn't hurt too badly.

He looked wrong, Wolf decided on the second day. The human, no, the Maou had been uncouth, loud, ill-mannered and generally idiotic but he had been alive. Always moving or talking or laughing. This stillness was unnatural.
He stood between the windows, watching every breath while Gunter, Konrad and even Gwendel entered, inspected the sleeping youth (or fussed over him in Gunter's case) and left. He didn't speak to them. He had nothing to say. His thoughts were too strange to share.
So Wolf stood and watched and waited for Yuuri to wake. Then the world could move on again.
