I can picture everything, the little details just giving this fic so much more.
In a way I love how at the end, nothing is truly resolved, because that just seems so realistic and tangiable to me.

I can totally imagine that this is what a lot of athlethes' lives are like, after they retire - sunshine and a beautiful house and plenty of money and just them and their partner, with all the travel and complicated logistics and time pressures gone, and a sudden terrifying sense of "what next?". It really felt real. I could even see R&R turning into one of those couples who can't communicate with each other any more and don't have enough to talk about, so they accumulate dogs and treat them like children. . .

Yeah, I think that after such an incredibly busy lifestyle, the quietness of being in one place with one person for a long time would be really hard to adjust to. I'm glad this rang true for you ♥
