A dear friend of mine, a priest and rector of hte Maronite Cathedral in St. Louis, escorted the Maronite Patriarch back to Beruit after the later's visit to the US recently. He is still there.

Please pray for his safe return.

Volunteers for a rescue mission should contact me directly.

While I can't go storming into Beruit, I can definitely help out if you need anything locally...

Do you think you could persuade a couple of pilots into helping me? Feel free to use any means you see fit. Just tell me about it later, because I have no life and am forced to live vicariously.

1. Yes, I have several sites with news from the region.

2. The plan they're working on only evacuates about 16% of US nationals from the region, and I amy need to evac a few non-US nationals.

Sounds like fun... If you can get the equipment and all that taken care of, and I can be back by the end of the month... :D Should be a fun leave. :D

Give me a hard date to have you in Atlanta and/or Doha. Wouldn't it be a trip if you missed Atlanta and showed up Doha? To be honest, I'd shell out good cash to see the look on people's faces. There'd probably be a new general order written as a result.

Equipment shouldn't be that big of a deal, transpo is proving the major obstacle. Otherwise, I'd intend primarily to "live off the land" so to speak.

And bringing you may not be a good idea, ultimately. I need to minimize potnetial fall out for the US government. This is an entirely freelance operation.

Having said that, however, give me a hard date, and we'll see. I probably won't go, but that's not stopping me from working up the problem.
