Recently, leoetiquette posted about her high school boyfriend and slightly related issues. Also, fulguritus posted a high meme. I wonder if there's something in the water for our age group, because I just got an email from my high school girlfriend.
She's married with three kids. She's married to the guy she dumped me for. She went to college 90 minutes south of where we grew up. That's the farthest she's ever been from St. Louis.
I got over her a long time ago. This didn't bring any pains of regret or anything. Far from it. It did, however, get me thinking about the various paths we take through life.
I won't run through the highlights of my life here. I'd undoubtedly miss something. More to the point, it seems pretty unbelieveable, even to me. Suffice it to say I've never lived the same year twice, assertions to the contrary by banned members of my flist not withstanding.
It's been a hell of a ride. The best part is it is still going on.
But it wouldn't have happened with her.
