So today was the last day of class.  And my Jane Austen class was canceled, in a fitting Austenian ending, as my professor said (build up to a big climax and then a rushed ending).  Of course since it was canceled, he could hardly give us the study guide for the final as he intended, so the final has been changed to a take-home final consisting of about three "shortish" essays, or so he says.  Which of course means that I can worry about them all weekend!  Joy! (sarcasm)

Actually, I'm kind of sad that this semester is over, although the greater part of me is relieved.  I turned in my portfolio and other editing assignments, my Jane Austen paper is finished (not done well, but well enough, I think.  I revised the intro and conclusion, and was too scared to touch the middle 8 pages, so I didn't.  Oh  well. :) ), and I don't have any small homework assignments.  The only thing left to do is my paper for my Lit and Film class, and that's a little over half done, and I've got so much to say I'm not even worried about it.  I wrote a page of it today during the time that my JA class was scheduled, so came home tonight and totally did nothing.  And it feels good. :)  I'll finish the paper tomorrow (hopefully) or Saturday, which will be just fine.  And finals shouldn't be too bad.  Oh, I'm so relieved to be almost done.  I want to go home and see my family.  This will be the first year that my littlest brother will be with us (the rest of the kids) on Christmas Eve.  See, we have bedrooms on all three levels of the house, and on Christmas Eve, all us kids sleep in the basement so that Mom and Dad are sure that none of us peek and see the tree early.  And this year Jared is old enough to sleep down in the basement with us!  It's exciting, 'cause he's cute.  He learned that a donkey says "hee haw" and that an owl says "who who"--too adorable!  Of course, this is the first year that we won't all be together--Ben goes on his mission (for church) on Wednesday.  He's going to Paris, which is exciting, but I'm kind of sad at the same time.  Oh, we're all growing up!

So next Thursday, my roommate and I are (tentatively) going to go see the local ballet's production of 'The Nutcracker."  I'm really excited--I love Tchaikovsky, and am very ashamed that I have yet to see "The Nutcracker" performed live.  I've seen "Sleeping Beauty," which was gorgeous, but now I want to see "The Nutcracker."  And the only ballet doing it at home will have finished their run by the time I arrive home.  So I have to see it out here. :)

Ooh, song recommendation: "Breathe" from the cast recording of "In the Heights."  It's playing on Broadway right now, and while I don't much care for the rest of the songs, "Breathe" is absolutely fantastic.  It's the song of a girl returning from her freshman year at college, trying to figure out how to tell her family she dropped out.  And it's so good!  I highly recommend it--the only downside is that it's not a Christmas song, but don't let that worry you. :D

And I have this strange urge to watch Sabrina with Harrison Ford and Julia Ormond...  Love that movie so much... :)  Or While You Were Sleeping--that's even a Christmas movie.  Dang it, I've got to figure out how to make icons....and a way to get around the 15 icon limit....I don't think that's possible, actually, but a girl can dream, right? :D
