Need a laugh?

Ok, if you've ever had any kind of a job where you've had to interact with the public, and deal with stupid people, this site is for you:

It made me laugh so very hard!  Reminds me of the one summer I worked at Hoover Dam, and the people who came to see it.  I swear, they must have left their brains at home.  My favorite were the people who would ask us where the dam was.  Now, there is a road across the top of the dam, so when we'd tell them that they were standing on the dam, they'd reply that "no, this was the bridge" and "where is the dam?"  You'd argue for about 15 seconds, telling them they were standing on the dam and them replying that this was the bridge.  And then you'd finally get fed up, point off into the distance, tell them to squint real hard at some white spot--the white smudge off in the distance was the dam.  They'd smile, thank you, and start snapping pictures of nothing. :)  Or we had the people who wanted to know why the water was so much higher on one side of the dam than on the other (um, it's a dam--by definition, that's kind of what it's supposed to do).  Or the lady who asked us if we went through the tunnels in the dam and patched all the holes with bubble gum every morning (yes, there are tunnels in the dam, but if there are cracks in those tunnels leaking water, we're already in trouble, considering that there's at least 20 and usually more feet of concrete on either side of the tunnels).  Then we had one lady come in 2006, who had seen this picture (from 1996):

I was wandering around on top of the dam, answering questions and so on, and she wanted to know if that flag was still there, hanging from the front of the dam.  I told her no--if you looked down from the top of the dam, you wouldn't see the flag.  She looked down, then looked back up at me, and said "I was wondering if maybe it was invisible or something."  *facepalm*

I love humanity. :D

hoover dam, stupid people, work
