Gymnastics
Sascha Artemev and John Horton are competing for the gymnastics all-around. Really hoping John comes home with a medal, even if Sascha doesn't. Horton made a small mistake on the pommel horse, but then two of the Chinese men really screwed up, and had to get down and hop up again. Horton got a 9.5 for execution on the vault, which is just fantastic, especially considering he didn't stick the landing.
Tomita just fell from the rings! Damn. He totally lost his grip, and the announcers are saying the other gymnasts have been complaining about the rings. Something is seriously not right. He could've been badly injured.
John's not doing terribly well. He's having a few small issues, but he's about to go up on the high bar, so we'll see. Fantastic! Large step on the dismount, but the rest of it was brilliant.
Meh. The gymnastics this year is really not going well. Everyone is making mistakes, and faltering, and just generally having problems. I really miss Paul and Morgan.
But Sascha just did wonderfully on pommel horse. And Fabian of Germany proceeded to fall off the high bar. The freaking world champion fell off. That was horrible. Even the Chinese gold medalist, Yang Wei, messed up his final routine on the bar. Uchimura of Japan takes silver and Caranobe of France takes bronze. Needless to say, John and Sascha were totally out of the running.
Here's something fun though: How many condoms could the Olympic athletes possibly need? Try 100,000. There are 10,500 athletes, and 100,000 condoms. At least we know they're playing safe, right? lol
Anyway, I'm off to bed. Night!
