Gaming news blather!

So I just finished watching the Nintendo Press Conference online, and oh. my. god.

A bit of explanation: Nintendo, in the grand scheme of E3 press conferences, generally plays things rather conservative and close to the chest. While hardware wise they've shown some amazing innovative things in the past, they still play things really safe in press conferences.

So after Microsoft's press conference was fairly calm and conservative with no real shocks or surprises because they were really focusing on showing off the Kinect, I figured Sony was the best bet to take the lead for most impressive press conference.

But oh my god, Nintendo just hit that ball out of the park! Yeah, we got confirmation on things that everyone knew were coming, a new Zelda, a new Goldeneye, a new Mario game (there's always a new Mario game), Metroid: Other M, the 3DS, etc... But it's the surprises that were awesome: Kirby (looking amazing!), Kid Icarus (for the 3DS!), Donkey Kong, a demo of Epic Mickey, a list of all the developers who are designing something for the 3DS (OMG Atlus! - 3D SMT would be awesome!)

I don't normally blog about gaming news all that much, cause this is the age of the internet and by the time I get to it, normally everyone knows. But there's so much coming out in the near future that hadn't even been hinted at, and I'm super-excited about everything now, lol.

Really, Sony's going to have to bring it to beat Nintendo this year, because they sold me on the 3DS and I'm scornful of this whole 3D fad.
