At the teen idol magazine Myojo's homepage a bunch of famous people have spoken up about bullying.
I've translated some (not all) of the messages for your reading pleasure.
I did my best with translating these but I can't promise they are 100% correct. If you find anything wrong please PM me.
NEWS
Shige:
Everyone experiences bullying at least one time in their life.
There was a time when I was too cocky and because of that was bullied.
However, the thing that made it stop was that I had friends, that I wasn't alone.
Now, even if I had been alone back then, since that time, I'd be able to meet various people and become friends with people other places. It's okay to change schools. First of all, get yourself out of that small world, and find friends.
Koyama:
When I was in my second year of middle school, I was the victim of some light bullying. One day I had a fight with one friend and the next day that friend's group (<- friend + his group of friends) started bullying me. At gym-class, they aimed the boll at me. However, at that time, I had a single friend who stood by me. He's the one who made me able to come through that hard time. That's why; I want the people who are being bullied to find someone they can depend on like that. When you're being bullied, everyone except for you might look like an enemy but there's definitely someone who'll become your ally.
Massu:
This is a hard question. There’s no easy answer to this like ”If we do this, bullying would disappear”. When I was at school, I had teachers who would cry for their pupils sake, we would play dodge ball or do some sort of sport and had no such thing as someone being mean. That’s why I believe we had no bullying. Being considerate, having friends you can talk to, the environment, having a grown up you can rely on, all of this is important I think.
Tegoshi:
When I start thinking about bullying, the ones who I really cannot forgive are the ones who just watch. In the past when I noticed a pervert on a train I whispered to the salary man beside me “I’m going to try and catch that pervert, won’t you help me?” the salary man took off. In the end I got him myself but in the case of repeated bullying, the ones who just feign ignorance are at fault as well I think. That’s why, if you know there’s bullying in your class but pretending not to see, I’d want you to gain the courage to stop it.
Ryo:
If I had a kid and that kid died because of bullying I’d be in pain for not being able to protect them for the rest of my life. But, in reality, for parents to follow their kids to school and protect them is impossible. That’s why it’s the teacher and classmates responsibility to protect them. There’s no such thing as the bullied being at fault. Even if you don’t mean to bully, if the opposite side feels bullied, then it’s so. Don’t overlook the signs of bullying!
Yamapi:
To those of you who are suffering.
When I was in the drama “Byakkotai” I thought about a lot of things.
About 140 years earlier kids at 14 or 15, got involved in disputes and even if they didn’t want to kill anyone, they did. And even though they didn’t want to die, they did.
That’s not a story from a game but something that really happened.
“Byakkotai”’s soldiers and today’s kids are totally different but their lives value are not.
That’s right, life is something very valuable.
Ending that is something you must not do.
Thinking “I want to die” is something you must not do.
The present might be hard but both this world and time are infinite.
The happiness, beautifulness, knowledge and passion you meet ‘cause you’re alive.
There’s still a lot left.
I hope from the bottom of my heart that you can find hope in that.
Kanjani8
Ohkura:
On the news we often hear stories about people committing suicide because of bullying.
It's not a topic I can say something lightly about. However, if among the people who read this, there is someone who is now facing bullying, and might even have decided to kill themselves, there's something I want to convey. If it's so bad that you want to die, live with the readiness to die then. Since you have the courage to die, you should be able to do anything!
Murakami:
Bullying is unforgivable! People who bully are definitely weaker than the ones who are being bullied. It’s not like you’re living alone. People who are bullying are the ones that won’t accept a simple fact like that there are different types of people all around the world. Moreover, the people who are being bullied are definitely not weak! On the other hand, they are strong people who can conquer bearing both pain and loneliness. I do think as you go through life you learn both about hurting and being hurt but, everyone should think about how to become a kinder person.
Maruyama:
We all have a purpose for being born. There’s no such thing as a person having no reason to live. That reason is something we all have to find for ourselves, But the joy of having found ones reason to live is a wonderful thing. Dying without finding that would be so sad. The time we all spend in school is compared to a lifetime very short. Being sly is okay, just get past the time in school. After that a bigger world can be seen!
Ryo:
See NEWS.
Subaru:
As a kid I was often teased and call "chibi". There might be people who have a complex about being small and being called "chibi" might make them feel bullied but I didn't care. I was really a chibi who was above all of them and standing out because of that made me happy. If you think that even a chibi can become big you'll become big but a big kid can never become small.
I thought "Everyone must be jealous of me". An innocent personality (laugh).
People are all different. Appearances, talents, charms are all different. Isn’t that's good? I think that's incredibly wonderful. People who are being bullied and are suffering, people who are bullying, I want you to please think about that one more time.
Yasu:
To the people who are being bullied.
I do think you are having a hard time now but, when you move up in school (<- eg. changing from junior to high school), going out to companies to work, the hard time's you are experiencing now will definitely become a strong power for you.
To the people who are bullying someone.
Now, you might be in a position of power, but, that kind of thing, if the environment change, it'll definitely collapse. At that time your "power" will become unusable. Preparing yourself for that would be good. For your own sake, stop all the bullying.
Yokoyama:
I think it’s alright to fight. However, fight someone who’s stronger than you! If you can’t stand that person, fight how much you want. It’s wrong to gang up on someone who’s weaker… or won’t fight you back. We all fault and make mistakes. I also have times when, because I’m angry say something and later think I was mean. However, at that time I do some self-reflecting and say “I’m sorry”. I think it’s great to through those times being able to connect with people.
And, to those of you who are suffering! Living is certainly hard. But, that’s why there’s also things that makes it worth living. That’s what you can’t forget.
Tackey & Tsubasa
Tsubasa:
To those of you who are being bullied.
I want you to not give up.
Finally, your family will absolutely become your ally. That’s why I think it’d be best if you stop keeping it all a secret and tell them. Don’t end your life.
If that happens, your enemies will win. The bullied one will get back what he endured in emotional strength. I think you’ll grow a lot. On the other hand, the one who bullies will definitely become weak. So, please don’t lose.
Takki:
To those of you who are bullying someone.
I don’t know the reason why you would be doing that but, if you don’t understand other people’s pain, in the distant future, you will be met by a painful experience.
That’s not a good thing. Before you’re hit by that brutal fate, stop with the bullying.
Arashi:
Nino:
I was once bullied too.
At some point another kid became the target but nothing was settled.
I never got an apology so in my mind nothing has ended.
A world that has bullying is bad!
That there is bullying both at schools and in companies is ridiculous enough.
Ohno:
Where does it become bullying? The one who’s bullying don’t understand that. They try to, but before they realize it’s become something outrageous.
But, it must not become like that.
School is important but the communication between the family members is also important in my opinion. The parents must make it possible to talk about anything. However, in the end it’s the one who are bullying someone who’s at fault.
Aiba:
Kids have their own world where adults can’t go. To be able to win against your bully you could start muscle training so you can fight. Then wait for the right timing and be able say whatever you want straight to their face. If you’d win in the fight they would not be able to treat you badly ever again. If doing muscle training is good or not is something I’m not sure about but if you don’t fight it, the bullying won’t go away. It’d be nice if there was a brave person like a leader of a delinquent group who could side with the bullied in each class…
MatsuJun:
For high-school students, since the part of your life that you’ve spent in school is huge, feeling like you have no place to be is hard, right?
If that kind of situation is too hard to handle, I think its okay to imagine you’re somewhere else.
Not to escape, but for you to be able to continue living.
The differences in those feelings are huge. Running away ‘cause you can’t stand it and finding somewhere to be elsewhere are totally different.
I’ve also had painful experiences but I’m living normally now.
Even if there are bad things, there are good things too!
Sho:
I’m sick of the words “Don’t die”.
Even though I’m only on “NEWS ZERO” once a week, everyweek there’s news about someone dying because of bullying.
If you’re in the small world of “school”, you might end up thinking “there’s nothing left but dying”, but when you get out in society there are people who’ll accept you and other things that happen. So, don’t die!
KAT-TUN
Koki:
To all of you, who're being bullied, don't ever loose!
Those who bully people are the ones who are weak and want someone else to be weaker than them.
That's why, even if you get bullied, you are NOT weaker than the idiots who bully you, be aware of that!
If it's so bad that you'd want to kill yourself, if you have that kind of courage, use it to hit (them) instead. Even if you don't win, something will definitely change.
'Cause people, you, are not that weak.
Nakamaru:
I guess people who bully just have small hearts.
It you think about it logically, even if you’d hate for it to happen to yourself you still do it to others, isn’t that really embarrassing? I think you’ll definitely regret it when you grow older.
The one who gets bullied must suffer each day, and is already doing their best so I can’t cheer them on like that…. But what I can say is, now is not everything.
When a little time has passed, the situation will change and so will your feelings. For that sake I want you to try and get pass now.
Ueda:
Around the world there are nice people and not very nice people. Since there are people who get deceived in the world there must also be people who deceive. It’s the same with bullying. Since there are people who are getting bullied, there must be people who bully. That might be reality. However, I won’t ever accept the mentality of bullying the weak. Is there something fun in bullying someone who can’t resist? If you’re going to bully someone pick someone who’s your equivalent. To fight one on one, fair and square is the way we should live…
Junno:
Exterminate bullying!
Bullying is definitely a bad thing! Having said that, it’s bad to blame someone else! It’s just not one person who’s at fault, the whole society is. Think about it, it’s not about hurting another person; it’s about first working hard at polishing yourself. It’s because we live in that kind of society that if we don’t do that, we won’t be able to live in the world ahead.
Kame:
I can’t say anything cool but you who are being bullied will become incredibly strong. The pain you’re going through is making you sad but you’ll have the asset of being someone who “understands pain”. People who understand pain are friendly and strong. On the other hand, people who bully are losing something they can never get back. Both the bullied and the bullying, the ones who aren’t either, me, we all in, not in our head but in our heart want to think about all people we are connected with. For both you and me, our lives have just started. Even if it’s hard now, it’s bad to stop and end your life now. You’re living in a now where you can’t ever loose to anyone. Don’t ever lose.
Other
Kitayama:
Bullying is disgusting! It’s pitiable!
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes but you have to look beyond that.
If you're alone, childish, can't do anything other than tag along with people, afraid that you'll become the one who gets bullied, that kind of people are the one that bullies, I think.
Can you be proud that the things you are doing now are fair and square, I want you to think about that. If you can't, get the courage to try and say "I'm sorry" 'cause something will change.
Anyhow, I hate bullying!
Nagase:
I think people who bully are good-for-nothing and are living for no reason. Hurry up and realize that! The people who are being bullied are chasing after themselves and making their alternatives smaller. If you’re being bullied, don’t die, retort! Fight, persist, move. There are a lot of alternatives. To die is the worst of choices, and it’s rude to your parents. Whatever happens, continue living.
Maeda Gouki:
I can’t say anything but that it would be best if you stop bullying others, because the bully won’t receive any profits from it whatsoever anyway. It’s not like doing that will make you any stronger. It’s just a waste of time, really.
It’s not like you who are bullied have done anything wrong so believe in yourself. Don’t let what other people are saying get to you!
Kokubun Taichi (TOKIO)
I think bullying is a crime. First, I want us to fully recognize this fact. The act of hurting another person is clearly inflicting bodily injury. If you're bulling someone or if you're turning a blind eye to bullying, you are committing crimes and overlooking the problem.
I think downplaying it with the word "bullying" is a deception and is something that should not be done. Also, this was a topic on "Aura no Izumi" (famous TV show), but I want you to never forget the words "Shame on you!" Bullying someone is a preposterously shameful thing.
A "shameless" human being deserves scorn whether a child or an adult. And to all of you who are being bullied: I think you carry a pain and suffering that far exceeds our imagination. Don't put up with it; run away, fight, sue, shout out in some way.
Show courage and take one step forward.
Believe things will change and move forward.
Doumoto Tsuyoshi (KinKi Kids)
Bullying is a really tough theme, huh. Simply put, it seems like there's a problem with our current educational system. People are no longer scolded properly. Parents, teachers, everyone; they're becoming more sensitive than necessary. The loss of apparent love and affection is a problem too. As far as bullies go, what I just think is, what merit is there in bullying? I want to just say, that if you think a few years in the future, there's nothing you'll have gained. I think if I had to say, there's more to be gained for those being bullied. This is because you can toughen up, and once you know sorrow and solitude, you'll be a gentler person.
In any case, what I want to tell people being bullied is, I don't want you to die. I was once in a drama called "Ningen Shikkaku" (Human Failure), and I played the role of someone who, due to an incredible amount of bullying, chooses to take his own life. I think people being bullied suffer more than I can ever imagine. But once you die, everything's over. I want you to live.
I'd like the people doing the bullying to think more about life. If you drive someone to death, that can't be undone.

I'm glad they're speaking up about a real problem for once and not just what their favourite colour is ;P
Personally I liked Subaru's most. :P
