Japanese actress Haru Kuroki won the Silver Bear for best actress at the 64th Berlin International Festival on Saturday for her part in director Yoji Yamada's "The Little House."

"I never thought I'd be able to appear on this stage," Kuroki said at the award ceremony. "I owe director Yamada, who made the great movie."

yay! I saw the movie at the festival and after the screening she and the director came up on stage and gave their greetings. Kuroki gave hers in German. :)
