AKB48 sold a million and HKT news
On February 8th, HKT48 held the Nagasaki show of their 'HKT48 Kyushu 7-ken Tour ~Kawaii Ko ni wa Tabi wo Saseyo~'. During this concert, the group announced the senbatsu members for their 3rd single which will be released on March 12th.
HKT48's first tour kicked off on January 11th at iichiko Grand Theater in Oita. They are scheduled to hold 12 shows in 7 prefectures in Kyushu. During the noon concert at Nagasaki, Sashihara Rino appeared in a tuxedo and announced that the title of the 3rd single will be "Sakura, Minna de Tabeta". She then read the names of the 16 senbatsu members.
Like their 2nd single "Melon Juice", the center position will be claimed by Tashima Meru and Tomonaga Mio. This will be 3rd generation kenkyuusei Tanaka Miku and Yabuki Nako's first time in the senbatsu. Nakanishi Chiyori, who didn't make the senbatsu for "Melon Soda", will be back in the senbatsu for the upcoming single. After all the names were called, the 16 senbatsu members performed "Sakkura, Minna de Tabeta" for the first time.
During the evening concert, there was a surprise announcement that HKT48 will be making their first independent appearance on TV Asahi's 'MUSIC STATION' on February 14th. Aside Sashihara, the other members had no idea about this big news. "HKT will appear on that MUSIC STATION! Everyone please watch it!" Sashihara said.
Nagasaki is Team H member Moriyasu Madoka's hometown. During an interview before the concert, Moriyasu commented, "I was looking forward to holding a concert in my hometown Nagasaki, so I hope to show everyone how much I've grown up." On stage, Moriyasu covered Kashiwagi Yuki's "Yokaze no Shiwaza".

The total sales number of AKB48's 5th album "Tsugi no Ashiato" (went on sale on January 22) reached 1,001,000 copies when including the sales --1,351 copies-- from February 6.
This marked their 2nd consecutive million-selling album.
They achieved it 16 days after the album went on sale, and it is the fastest record for the group's history (for albums), as their previous album "1830m" reached a million copies 33 days later from the release day.
This is the first time in 6 years and 8 months for a female artist to have 2 consecutive million-selling albums, since it was last accomplished by Koda Kumi in 2007, and for a female group, it is the first time in over 15 years.
Takahashi Minami made a comment, "We are very happy, and grateful to you fans that we were able to reach a million copies. Thank you very much. All of us members realize how we need to continue trying our best in order for us to respond your support."
"Tsugi no Ashiato" contains the group's 7 previous singles, as well as many new songs. During the first week, it sold 962,000 copies which was the best record for the group.

This is fun, I am very very surprised about HKT48's appearance in Music Station like I remember how Momosu's fan are dying to let them appear in Music Station before good thing MM finally back what I mean here is that it is a big honor for them plus the fact that all of 48 group finally appeared in music station. while in !!P only momusu appeared well whatever akb sold another million but this time it is about album and IT IS FIRST TIME oh lets not forgot how hard to sell physical singles today even with gimmicks it is really hard (but not for arashi) so it is really hard to beat this record. Losers and haters will deny these facts. Haters gonna hate
