Singer and one half of popular duo KinKi Kids, Domoto Tsuyoshi has reached the no.1 spot in the albums chart with his first cover album, "Kaba". It has been 2 years and 7 months since a cover album topped the chart with JUJU's "Request" (September 2010). This is Domoto's 2nd consecutive no.1 solo album and his 5th no.1 solo album overall. The last time he reached the top spot 2 times in a row was with "si:" (August 2004) and under the moniker ENDLICHERI☆ENDLICHERI, "Coward" (March 2006). This album includes covers of "I LOVE YOU" by Ozaki Yutaka, "Another Orion" by Fujii Fumiya, "LOVE LOVE LOVE" by DREAMS COME TRUE, "Furui Nikki" by Wada Akiko, "Jinsei wo Katarazu" by Yoshida Takuro, "Hajimari wa Itsumo Ame" by ASKA, self-cover of his solo debut "Machi", and the song he composed and wrote the lyrics for the first time 16 years ago, "Yasashisa wo Mune ni Daite", for a total of 9 songs (10 songs in the Limited Edition).

In the singles chart, male-female unit, fripSide have achieved their first ever no.1 ranking with their 6th single, "sister's noise". Previously, their best placing had been "only my railgun" (November 2009) at 3rd in the singles chart, and "infinite synthesis" (December 2010) at 8th in the albums chart. The unit consists of music producer Yaginuma Satoshi and voice actress Nanjo Yoshino. The unit was formed in 2002 and in August 2009, Nanjo became their 2nd generation vocalist. The title track is used as the opening theme for TOKYO MX's anime, "To Aru Kagaku no Railgun S".
Meanwhile, popular group, Arashi have topped both music-DVD and overall DVD charts simultaneously for the 3rd week in a row with their live DVD, "ARASHI LIVE TOUR Popcorn". This is their 3rd time to have reached the no.1 spot in the music-DVD chart for 3 consecutive weeks after "ARASHI AROUND ASIA 2008 in TOKYO" (March 2009) and "ARASHI ARAFES" (December last year). Besides Arashi, the only other act to have topped the chart 3 weeks in a row was Mr.Children with "Mr.Children DOME TOUR 2009 ~SUPERMARKET FANTASY~ IN TOKYO DOME" (May 2010).
