Weekly Oricon Chart: Albums/Singles/Music-DVDs
AKB48's sister group from Hakata, HKT48 have achieved the no.1 spot with their debut single, "Suki! Suki! Skip!" This has surpassed fellow sister group, NMB48's debut single, "Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo" (July 2011) which sold 218k in the first week, making this the best-selling debut by female artists so far. For 48 groups previously, their debut singles' first week sales are; AKB48's "Sakura no Hanabiratachi" (22k), SKE48's "Tsuyoki Mono yo" (23k), NMB48's "Zetsumetsu Kurokami Shoujo" (218k), and Nogizaka46's "Guruguru Curtain" (136k). HKT48's average age of 15 years old put them ahead of their seniors as the best-selling debut, and 6th if includes male artists. They are only the 4th girl group with debut single topping the chart after PASSPO☆, T-ARA, and NMB48. Sashihara Rino, former member of AKB48 who is now a HKT48 member, is the only 48 member who has topped the chart as 4 different artists; AKB48 member, Not yet member, soloist, and now HKT48 member.

In the albums chart, legendary rock band, BOΦWY have reached the top spot with their anniversary best album, "THE BEST "STORY"." The band debuted in March 1982 and disbanded in 1988. The last time they have topped singles or albums chart was 15 years ago with a best album, "THIS BOΦWY" (February 1998). It has been 25 years since they disbanded in April 1988, and they are only the 2nd group to still reach no.1 more than 20 years after disbandment since The Beatles (disbanded in 1970, reached the top spot with "The Beatles 1" in November 2000). Previously for Japanese artists, the band UNICORN have topped the chart 15 years and 5 months after disbandment. This album consists of over 10,000 fan-voted songs with the 1st place went to "CLOUDY HEART," as well as hit songs like "NO. NEW YORK," "DREAMIN'," "Honkey Tonkey Crazy," and "Wagamama Juliet" for a total of 32 songs, including 2 bonus tracks.
Meanwhile, 5-member Korean group, BIGBANG have topped the music-DVD chart (no.2 in the overall DVD chart) with their live DVD, "BIGBANG ALIVE TOUR 2012 IN JAPAN SPECIAL FINALIN DOME -TOKYO DOME 2012.12.05-". This is their personal best, surpassing "BIGBANG PRESENTS LOVE and HOPE TOUR 2011" (December 2011) which sold 35k in the first week. This is also their 4th no.1 music-DVD. Their tour last year mobilized 445,000 attendance with 19 performances and 6 cities including 3-dome performances in Tokyo, Osaka and Fukuoka. This DVD is filmed on December 5th last year at Tokyo Dome. The Blu-Ray version will be released on March 27th.
