62nd Kouhaku Uta Gassen tops 2011 TV ratings

The overall viewership ratings for NHK’s 62nd Kouhaku Uta Gassen have been announced. In the Kanto region, the first half of the program averaged 35.2%, and the second half averaged 41.6%. In the Kansai region, the ratings were 34.1% and 41.9%, respectively.

By region, Kouhaku had the highest ratings in Niigata

nope. a slight drop of 0.5% for the first half and 0.1% for the 2nd. not bad

2ch said becoz they started to change to digital TV or sth i'm not sure lol. but the average rating in 2011 was higher than in 2010.

Ii'm sure there's a surge of NHK subscribers for this year's Kohaku.
This year was better than last. Arashi was more sure of themselves and they assisted Mao-chan really well. Mao was impressive.

me and my friend both subscribe NHK last week just to watch this Kouhaku and watching live lol if only they count the rating for NHK all over the world not only in Japan :P
