Weekly Oricon Chart: Albums/Singles
Johnny's group, Hey!Say!JUMP achieved their 8th consecutive no.1 single with "Magic Power," since the release of their debut single "Ultra Music Power" (released in November 2007). The title song is being used as the theme song for the Japanese version of the animated film "Smurf," for which members Yamada Ryosuke and Chinen Yuri lend their voices to.
Meanwhile, Korean girl group 2NE1 debuted at the top of the albums chart with "NOLZA." They are now the third foreign artist to have reached no.1 in the Oricon chart with a debut work since tATu's "tATu" in March 2003 and Jang Geun Suk's "Let me cry" in April this year.
Posting the top 30 singles/album, and like last week, I'll start with singles chart first since the albums chart is once again, pretty pathetic, for 2 weeks in a row. Was rooting for Kalafina, but still glad to see them surpassing their previous album's first week sales. Also congrats to Acid Black Cherry, despite the single being limited to only 50k, but still managed to sell almost 49k! :)
