Apr 20, 2011 17:00

Hard-rockers, B'z renewed their single records with "Sayonara Kizudarake no Hibi yo". The single is now their 44th no.1 singles in total (second place goes to Hamasaki Ayumi with 37 no.1 singles). They also hold the record for the most consecutive no.1 (not including since debut) with 44 singles, with KinKi Kids in second place (30 consecutive no.1 singles). With this single as well, B'z extend their streak of most total sales from singles with 34,993,000 copies sold (Mr.Children in second place with 28,178,000 copies).

Meanwhile, Mizuki Nana achieved no.2 and no.3 in singles chart with "SCARLET KNIGHT" and "POP MASTER" respectively, becoming the first seiyuu with his/her own name to have 2 singles in the top 3. She's also the 4th female solo artist to have achieved 2 singles in the top 3 after Fuji Keiko (1970), Matsuda Seiko (1983), and Hamasaki Ayumi (1999).

In the albums chart, Yoshii Kazuya achieved his first no.1 as a soloist with "The Apples". His last no.1 spot was with THE YELLOW MONKEY when their album "PUNCH DRUNKARD" reached no.1 in 1998. His highest rank as a soloist previously was at no.2 with his 2006 album, "39108".

In the DVD chart, Kanjani8's "KANJANI∞ LIVE TOUR 2010→2011 8UPPERS" DVD is the no.1 music-DVD as well as the no.1 overall DVD. This release also has a Blu-Ray Disc version which sold approximately 9,000 copies and becomes the no.1 music-BD, making the total for DVD+BD release approximately 144,000 copies sold. With this, Kanjani8 are now the 5th male acts to have conquered both music-DVD and music-BD charts simultaneously after Kobukuro, THEE MICHELLE GUN ELEPHANT, B'z, and Inaba Koshi.

Posting the top 30 albums/singles and top 10 music-DVDs. The second column refers to sales in 2011. New release in bold.
