Recochoku users pick their most moving graduation song

Recochoku recently held a poll asking users to pick which song they felt was the most deeply moving graduation song.

EXILE’s 2007 hit song “Michi” came in first place, a ballad that voters felt represented graduation well with its themes of moving forward, spring, and going on a journey. “I remember singing this song at my middle school graduation,” explained one voter in his teens. This voter is not alone, however, as “Michi” is a popular song to perform at graduations and had placed in second on this same poll in 2010.

Other top picks included Janne Da Arc’s “Furimukeba” and Kawashima Ai’s “Tabidachi no Hi ni”, which include the words “uniform,” “school building,” and “after school.” Hearing lyrics with these kinds of words reminded users of their time in school and their own graduations.

Top 5:

01. “Michi” - EXILE

02. “3gatsu 9ka” - Remioromen

03. “YELL” - Ikimonogakari

04. “Furimukeba… ” - Janne Da Arc

05. “Tabidachi no Hi ni” - Kawashima Ai
