The trial has started on December 16th for singer-songwriter Onitsuka Chihiro's (30) assault by an unemployed man by the name of Komiya Yuusuke (39) in Tokyo. Komiya testified that " I only slapped her once. " in which the prosecution has denied.
In the prosecutor's opening statement, it was said that in early August of this year, Onitsuka had met Komiya at a Tokyo toy store and ended up going out with him. Soon, the man began to live in her home with her. But, eventually, he had grown dissatisfied with Onitsuka and once he wanted to express this to her, he had attacked her.
In a public hearing, Onitsuka's victim statement was read, " Because of this incident, I'm afraid to get close to men because I distrust them. For this person to inflict such violent pain to my face is something I will never forgive. "
According to the written indictment, Komiya had slapped Onitsuka in the face on August 18th at around 6pm at her Shibuya apartment. He threw her onto the floor and tried to gauge her eyes, among other things. She suffered a fracture to her ribs and it took a month for her to recover from the injuries sustained from the attack.
